Great Product: Round or Square?
I’ve previously bought the square version of this plug (from the same supplier) and I loved them so much I bought more (both round and square). Here are a few notes to help you choose the right version for you.SIZE: The square version is slightly larger so may *slightly* overlap the switch on a standard 13 amp socket. This doesn’t prevent them being used, but if you are concerned about this go for the round version.RATING: The round version is rated at 10 amp (which is fine for lights and small appliances). The square version is rated at 16 amp (and can therefore be used with larger 13 amp appliances such as electric heaters and radiators).MONITORING: The square version is able to measure power consumption and tell you how much each appliance is using. The round version can’t.APP: The round version shows the on-line / off-line status (ie connected to wifi) on home screen of the app. You need to click in to the device to view or change its on/off status. The square version allows plug to be switched on or off from the home screen which also shows on/off status. You can see the some of the difference in the attached screen shots.******INITIAL SET-UPThe initial set-up is really easy.If you have a duel band router (2.4ghz and 5.0ghz) I would recommend you turn off the 5.0ghz channel whilst setting up the plugs. This will ensure they connect first time. You can turn it on again afterwards, once the initial set-up is complete. Instructions on how to do this will be in your router manual.I also had a problem with the first batch whereby I found I could add the first device very easily but subsequent devices could only be added if I opened and closed the app (otherwise it errored out) but it looks like they have fixed this bug in the app now as I have just connected my third box of these plugs and all four connected first time.

Brilliant, so cool - once you can get them installed
Brilliant product, great value. For those people with a BT Smart Hub (or other routers that have dual band 2.4ghz and 5ghz) - turn off the 5ghz band first before trying to install these. BT Smart Hub: access your hub settings by typing "192.168.1.254" in the address of a web browser, go to the Wi-Fi section, click the "Change Settings" button and you'll see a switch to turn off the 5ghz band. For other routers see your own providers instructions.Install the smart plugs as per normal instructions in the Smart Life App.Once all plugs are set-up you can go back into the BT Smart Hub settings and switch back on the 5ghz band and everything will work as usual.Note: when switching on/off the 5ghz band give your devices a couple of mins to reconnect on the new band.

Exactly as expected
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. I've had TECKIN products before and have always been happy with the products. This is no exception. There are lots of these smart plugs available these days and they seem to get smaller each time I buy them (I'm always building on my smart home tech). These all connected to the Smart Home app first time and was immediately recognised by my Google home.I start a new job working from home so these are all going to live in my new home office. I've added a video to my review, mainly to show off my funky new lamp :-) Very pleased.

Easy to use and setup - saves money
This is now my second pack of 4 smart plugs. I purchased the first set over a year ago because I was a)fed up of the mechanical ticking of my manual plug timers, the sound used to drive me crazy, b) I wanted to set my lights to come on with the sunset and when using the old fashioned mechanical timers you would have to manually adjust them every week because of the vast difference in the sunset time throughout the year. These new smart plugs are amazing because now i can set my timers to come on based on local sunset times which we know change daily. there can be set dead on sunset and sunset times or X number of minutes before or after the event. These are how I use my plugs1) all my security lamps now scheduled to come on 30 minutes before sun rise and switch off at midnight2) my kids bedroom lights now come on 30 minutes before bedtime (my son has a lava lamp so it needs time to warm up) and then I set them to auto switch off at 9pm every night. normally we have to switch them off when we go to bed around 11pm so that saves 2 hours of the lights being on unnecessarily3) I also have a tortoise who has a uv / heat basking light which is now set to come on at sunrise and go off at sunset to mimic the natural seasons and fluctions of sunlight in winter vs summer4) i use them to set a schedule for my chirstmas lightsits brilliant and can save electricity by only ensuring lights/appliances are switched on and off whenever they are required.i also see that you can have plugs switch on an off based on weather conditions so useful for plug in radiators etc.I would definitely recommend purchasing themNB my photo shows the old style (on the right) vs the new style (on the left) - the redesign allows the socket switch more space to be accessed and switched

Smart home, Work with Amazon Alexa
Sometimes we don't get things which we like as we imagine. Here I would like to share my experience after buying a high-quality smart plug. The first and the foremost thing I would like to tell you about the easiness in use and if you want to switch on/off in hard to reach areas can be easily connected with Wi-Fi and Alexa. You don't need no hub so no extra devices to connect the plugs. The plugs connect directly to the Wi-Fi routers. We can control all our electrical item through phone whenever we want. Moreover, I can run the timings when things come on and off multiple times a day. For all these reasons I strongly recommend you to buy this extraordinary product in the current scenario of modernization to live efficiently.
