As a very special bonus for the fans, Maiden have compiled songs from sixteen different cities in eleven countries around the world, for the first time ever encompassing such varied places and cultures in one concert. The soundtrack audio version of the live show will be available on a double CD, as a limited edition vinyl set with two picture discs, and a digital download especially for those fans who do not have DVD access or just want to enjoy the show as a great live album. All are lavishly packaged as an ultimate memento of a tour to remember!

Contender for Best Live Maiden Album
I'm not a casual fan, I own all 15 studio albums and all the major live releases - Consider them my favorite band of all time. For folks that are casual fans looking for a good CD that represents Maiden's golden age - this is the best. Mainly because it includes some essential material from Somewhere In Time and 7th Son. Live After Death will always be one of the best, no arguing with Rock In Rio's wild energy and awesome set. To me, this is the essential collection of songs from the first seven albums (aside from the live favorite Fear of the Dark from their 9th album). I feel Bruce (vocals) and Nicko (drums) have both gotten better with time. Bruce does not seem quite as strained as on Maiden England, Live After Death, or Death on the Road. Nicko's tempo and fills have really improved in my opinion. I do think they should have included some Killers material, although Wrathchild and Killers can be heard on other live albums. For the hardcore fans that have not bought this because all of the songs are on other live albums.....Buy this. I'm not a fan of Kevin Shirley's production for their studio albums, but this album sound-wise is superior to Rock in Rio and Death on the Road. The drums are phenomenal and the bass cuts much better than Rock in Rio (still not as well as the Martin Birch material). The solos are changed a bit, although I wish Adrian did some of the solos he originally did as opposed to Janick. The crowd mics are great, vocally I like it when Bruce takes a break an lets Steve and / or Adrian carry the song.I find the versions of Revelations, Heaven Can Wait, Wasted Years and Can I Play With Madness to be superior recordings of the songs. Hallowed Be Thy Name, Rime of the Ancient Mariner, Powerslave are also contenders.Only complaints with this (and En Vivo!) is the inclusion of songs that I now have three, four, five versions of. This is understandable as they are staples of their live shows and this is a "best of" style tour. I think the production could be a little tighter as the earlier Martin Birch material was. In summary, for diehard fans or casual fans, this album is a winner. 5/5 stars.

a must-have for anyone who was there...
After growing up with the fantastic memory of the world slavery tour, wich i was only able to view on video, being young and out of cash at that time,i can say that having been at one of these concerts was just the greatest day in my all life.. Iron maiden simply sounds just better than then, having now 3 guitars instead of just 2..i was in monterrey, february 22nd 2008, and i have the happines to say that my favorite song from maiden of all time, and maybe the heavy metal song i have loved most in my all life,is wasted years.. i even cried when they played it. and now that precise song is included in the album,so how could i not have it?i guess everyone that had the chance of living any date of the somewhere back in time tour will have the chance to get the same kind of feeling when listening to these album,so it's a completely positive strategy to have released it. iron maiden has always behaved as one of the most intelligent heavy metal band of all time,as proven by the tour, and everything they do..i still get chicken-skin every time i hear the album, and if you were there, so will you... buy it!! and of course, the dvd too..

Great album!
Sadly this is the only history tour type of album that Iron Maiden has released in it's catalog thus far. The songs, the vinyl and the film that this sound track came from were all a joy to experience. I loved the film. I love this album. I am happy to have it on vinyl now. And I love my favorite band Iron Maiden. Here's hoping Iron Maiden will release more history tour albums in the future. But in the mean time if you love Iron Maiden as much as I do and want to here them live this album and Live After Death are great albums to get.

Amazingly Powerful
When you have experienced an Iron Maiden show, less words are necessary to explain your thougts. My case is actually this one and i must admit that the vynil edition is really something. I don't know if many fans still use this format, I do, for instance, and the reason is the quality and the feel of the stylus over the black plastic.I believe this compilation rather than awesome is terrific and rather than loud is are-you-deaf. I loved it, really, and for one only song: Iron Maiden. Hopefully you can have the same opinion when you buy this, but it is really a must, for every fan, to belong this compilation. Live Maiden is really something, engineering is well done and no distorted dynamics like in the digital version, although i can't avoid thinking the taping was actually digital.Hope you all get the disc and have / share same opinion! Up The Irons!

Maiden is simply The Best!!!
As one that got the chance to see the Maiden Metal Machine on this tour twice, I don't need to say that this is a gift from the Gods! I also don't need to say that Maiden hasn't lost a step in all these years (Nicko's drumming is at it's best on this one).Good sound quality and a great set-list makes this for a must-have for any metal fan. I take one star because my copy jumps at the middle of Rime Of The Ancient Mariner for no apparent reason on several CD players, probably just bad luck from me.Make sure you have this on your collection!

Ahh the memories!
This double cd captures it all. Every track was from another city, another country from the tour. It brings everything full circle. Having seen the band on one of the tour stops which is captured on this set, makes it extra special! Bruce Dickinson and the band were in top form, proving that no matter what musical direction the charts dictate today, a great hard rocking band with one of the best front men will continue to dominate and will ensure their staying power for years to come!
