Tap Out: Poems

I can't put this book down. I have spent the last few weekend mornings delaying my day engulfed in Kunz's strikingly vivid proletarian world. One that, despite it being so geographically near, couldn't be further from my personal American story. His writing transports me-- feeling like I'm right beside him through each roughshod rite of passage, each poem.Touching on current societal norms/maladies, this compilation isn't just sincerely written, it is apropos of much of today's America. I look forward to rereading it for years into the future to see what emotions and nostalgia it evokes, as it provides a truly visceral snapshot. Gritty, illuminating, and candid, Tap Out will leave the reader wanting for more.

This is a very powerful book of poetry and drew me in with its intensity. Tough, honest work and very engaging. I highly recommend it to anyone who likes poetry or thinks they might. These honest, gut wrenching poems will speak to you.

A stunning, personal collection of poems sharp enough to pierce any callousness. Kunz has chosen his words carefully and hammered them in perfectly to examine family, heartbreak, distance, love, and the passage of time.

After reading this, I'm about to go shopping for more contemporary poetry collections!
