Cushion Grip works on Partials Too!
Just wanted to weigh in for those of us who wear partial dentures.I have been wearing my new partials for about 6 weeks, give or take a couple of days, and I had several adjustments to make them tolerable enough to eat anything more challenging that soup. I had some sore spots that could not be resolved without replacing my denture, which is a temporary. I couldn't see going several days without my lower partial just to get another denture made with potentially the same problems. After being told that we could make no further adjustments on my lower partial without sending it back to the lab, I got online and started researching. Cushion Grip is a top reviewed product on several sights, but I did not see any references to people using it on anything other than full dentures.I decided to take a chance, closed my eyes and clicked 'complete order" here on Amazon. My product arrived quickly and this weekend, I gave it a try.I followed the directions almost to the letter, with the exception that I started with a smaller amount than recommended. I have partial plates, both upper and lower. Since the directions were for full plates, I reduced the amount used by a little on the bottom and a lot on the top.I have to say this product is wonderful. It's almost like gel insoles for your teeth! I had to make a few adjustments to account for high and low spots on my plates, but overall, I am extremely pleased. For example, I had severe bone loss in my lower front jaw even before my teeth were extracted. My partial does not sit properly in that area because there is almost no support. By adding extra Cushion Grip, I was able to balance this trouble spot and stabilize my bite. My upper plate did not particularly need the extra layer of cushioning, but I added a very thin layer there as well, and oh my! The plate was not specifically uncomfortable before, but it is so much better with the Cushion Grip that I decided to keep using it on my upper plate too.The product does not stick to my gums. It's more like a layer of putty that molds to your particular soft tissues. It leaves a soft layer between your gums and your denture, eliminating the "sucky feeling" where things don't quite come together correctly. It creates a tight seal with suction. The dentures feel slightly different when I remove or insert them because of the layer of "softness" there. It's almost like coating them in a thin layer of rubber or gel, which has a touch of drag on my natural teeth, but makes a fantastic bond. The one caveat I would state is that I would not use this immediately after having extractions. I would recommend toughing it out for at least a couple of weeks, and I would also recommend getting your adjustments. Some of my issues had to do with the denture being too tight, and with having a protrusion that needed to be smoothed down. I could not have remediated these issues with this product, and it does "ooze" to fit (although you can't feel it), and I would have been very concerned about the suction pulling out my plugs in the new extraction sights, causing dry socket, if I had tried to use it to soon.I will be buying more Cushion Grip, even after I get my permanent dentures. For those of you who have partials, this stuff is great!

No.Just No.
I had such high hopes for this product. Like others, I read and re-read the instructions many times so that I could have success. Firstly, I highly suggest dumping your cup of hot water after the 5 minute waiting time, then adding hot water again to let the tube warm up for 10 minutes total. The metal “key” that comes with it is helpful, but it still requires quite a bit of strength to squeeze the product out of the tube. Generally speaking, the product might have worked to hold my chompers in, but I’m very doubtful that it would have lasted 4 days.Once the paste is warmed up, I didn’t have any issue with rolling it and pressing it into my lower denture. Although I have an implant-assisted lower denture to help keep them in place (2 pegs in lower gum & 2 coordinating holes in the denture), they have worn out over the years leaving me with a lower denture that won’t stay in place. I typically use the normal type of denture adhesive and wanted something a little less messy. So I essentially made 3 little ropes of this product to place around the implant holes. This was not a problem at all and it actually worked and stayed in place.Once I began working on the upper denture, that’s when my mouth started burning a bit. I wasn’t too concerned and continued the process for adhering the top denture. Well, the burning/stinging continued and got worse along with a nasty taste in my mouth. I thought I could handle it because in my mind I figured this was temporary. Then the smell of the product in my mouth and on my hands became increasingly noticeable to me.After one hour passed, the burning/stinging had decreased…but did not go away completely. The smell and awful taste on the other hand got worse with time! So then I finally decided to remove the dentures and remove the Comfort Grip completely (which wasn’t too difficult). I used minty toothpaste and mouthwash on my gums and tongue trying to rid myself of the smell and taste but was UNSUCCESSFUL! I couldn’t eat or drink anything without this taste and smell affecting everything. It actually made me nauseous and I had to take prescription anti-nausea medication to get to sleep!FINALLY, after about 36 hours, the smell and taste dissipated and I vowed to never use this stuff again!Obviously, every person is different and their bodies are affected differently, but I wanted to post my thorough review with my experience in case it helps someone else.
