Monster vintage toan and very easy install.
First these sound great, the neck P pickups are fat and grumbly, the bridge J pickup is raspy and well rounded. The J pickup is split coil and didn't pickup any hum from nearby electronics. Beware the J pickup didn't quite fit into the Squire body I was using as a donor for this build. It was ever so slightly to long, nothing a few min with the dremmell couldn't solve but you should know that this is a posibility. Also there is no foam pads for putting under the pickups but the packaging works nicely. Install was a breze, included instructions were clear and helpful.About the toan, I had my dad take a crack at it once I was done building this guitar and he couldn't get over how warm and vintage the P pickup sounded. For reference he plays a '72 fender P that he bought new. 10/10 will be buying for future builds.

Perfect match with my ‘78 Precision, and so easy to DIY
My trusty old 1978 Precision fretless (modified early in life to a P-J) had some active EMG pick-ups when I bought it 30 years ago, but over time they were getting finicky and I was tired of changing the battery. So I decided to go passive this time and wow am I glad I chose these.I was worried that my soldering skills had gone unused for so long that I’d be struggling to get any new p-ups installed, or I’d have to pay the local repair shop to do it. But these are literally plug and play, they were so easy to install- even with my overly-cautious approach I was able to do the full swap within 30 minutes.Did I mention the sound? These are rock solid, and with tape-wound strings this bass has never sounded better, at least since I bought it. The sound is even across the 4 strings, with plenty of output. The P pickup by itself is deep and has a vintage sound, and the J by itself gives me the Jaco-y fretless pop I need keep things from getting muddy. So far my favorite mix is to dial the P back just a bit, about 55% J and 45% P - still full but with great punchiness. And the pots work flawlessly and quietly. The tone control gets a bit less use but it works great when I want to get thumpy- just roll back the treble and shake the floor.Highly recommended if you’re looking to upgrade your sound, I am loving mine and looking forward to many more years of rocking the house.

Tried and true
I’ve used the GZR pickups on a few basses, and there’s a reason for that. Great sound, easy installation, and great value.I highly recommend this set, however, avoid ordering from SDS Audio. After waiting a week for the item to arrive, I received an opened GZR box with a completely different (active) EMG PJ set. It was clearly a customer swapping them out then returning them, but the seller should have at least checked the “returned” product before selling it as brand new.

Testosterone for Jules
Jules, my Aerodyne bass, was suffering from an anemic and noisy J pickup, and the P was in need of a little beefing up as well. I've considered these pickups for some time. After lots of research, I decided to give these a try. What a great upgrade! Dead silent J is MUCH hotter, growlier, and meatier than the stock J. The upgrade would have been worth it for that alone. What is really impressive is the fatter, beefier, punchier P pickup. I was ok with the previous P, but this one shows me what I didn't know I was missing. It has a great classic P-bass tone that the stock pups just kind of approximated. This one makes my PJ sound like a vintage P-bass when solo'd. I really dig the range of tones I can get with different blends of P-J and the tone control. What really made me drop my jaw was tuning down to drop D. WOW! Just those 2 notes are worth the price of admission! None of my other basses sound this good in drop D.These pickups are articulate and respond well to different fingerstyle techniques and to playing with a pick. Both are brighter than the stock pups, which is great. I play some fusion that benefits from that, but when I don't need the highs, it's easy to EQ them down as needed. You can't really add highs that aren't there, but there are options from the tone knob down that tame them when necessary.Packaging is top-notch and installation was a breeze. I assumed I would need to solder the input jack, since Jules has a strat-type jack, but no, the supplied input dropped in just fine, so no soldering needed. The stock Aerodyne knobs are a little snug, but work. (I ordered some Gibson knobs in black that would look pretty sweet on Jules. They were supposed to be 6 mm, but they don't fit. I had read that the Aerodyne knobs would not work on these, but I think someone just didn't try hard enough.)Next-day delivery was right on time, and free thanks to Prime! Jules and I are very satisfied customers!

Pretty easy
I have installed these in two Squier basses so far. Easy to assemble and install. And I am happy with the sound. I watched the video and looked at the directions at the same time to make them a little easier to figure out. I like that the pickups and knobs just plug together.

AWESOME 👌
Replaced passive pickups in my '80's Charvel bass. These pickups sound like they're active! Got rid of the pan altogether; these give you one tone control and a volume control for each pickup. These sound incredible and that bass screams now.

Great sounding pickups at any price
I always thought of EMG as active pickups, so I never considered them. These are passive pickups and modeled after a vintage P-bass set. Sound great for any style, even if you’re not into Sabbath. Really brought my P-Bass build to life, way better than than stock Fender or Duncan Quarter Pounder.

Sound great, not sure I like the quick connect
I put these in a PJ build and I think I spent more time reviewing the diagram and getting all the pieces straight that I would have if I just soldered it.I guess some people don't want to solder, I wish they had an option for a set without the quick connect. But, I can't complain about how they sound. Amazing.
