Seymour Duncan Billy Gibbon Red Devil pick up not a Hendrix pickguard.

If you're looking for something that will make your Strat sound like a Les Paul, look no further than this pickup. Had this installed in the bridge of my Deluxe Player Strat and it's absolutely fantastic. Very Mid heavy, which to my ears produces a very warm sounding tone. I was a little worried that it would be shrill, similar to a single coil bridge sound, but it's very tame.It sounds great clean or dirty, the only issue is that it seems slightly muddy when played clean.I highly recommend this pickup. My Strat barely sounds like a Strat anymore, and I love it.

I swapped out a JB Jr. for this in my 1996 American Strat. The JB was good, had plenty of output, but was so midrange-heavy it didn't really work well with the rest of the guitar. The Red Devil gives you higher output (certainly not as much as the JB Jr.), and a more balanced tonal response that seems to blend better with the Fender stock single coils. I wish it had just a tiny bit more output, but I bet that's probably the difference between the Alnico and Ceramic magnets in each pickup, respectively. I'm not docking a star for that, just a minor gripe.
