Wish I had seen this 15 years ago when the sink started rusting! Easy to use. Works great!
I have looked at an ugly rusty bathroom sink for about 15 years that was getting worse and worse. I actually don't use that bathroom that much or I guess I would have replaced it. I was very embarrassed when anyone saw it though. I sanded the rust down and applied the paint using the brush under the cap and it looks SOOO much better now! It was never going to look brand new after all this time but at a glance it looks alright! It really was in bad shape. The paint color matched perfectly and after many times sanding, applying paint, sanding and reapplying paint especially for deep gouges I am ecstatic with the results. If I was more patient and precise I'm sure it could look even better than it does. I hope and think this will protect it from rusting again at least for a little while. I put it off so long because I thought I was going to have to mix compounds with the paint and I would end up making a mess. The painting part really couldn't have been much easier.

Now have a 32 lifetime supply of touch-up glaze.
I've used this to successfully repair chips in a stovetop, ceramic tile, and a bathtub. The final color matched near perfectly even though none are American Standard.I've found a trick that can make the repair almost invisible on a flat surface. Slightly overfill the chip with the product and let it dry for several days. Then, trim the excess with a razor blade at a small angle and it almost disappears completely. I noticed that the overfilled repair has a blueish-gray tinge, but disappears after leveling the repair with a razor. My guess is a small difference in the height causes more light to be absorbed and scattered relative to the surrounding area (shrugs).

Great product!
Great product! Easy to use, but isn't the same color as the shower pan. I knew it would be difficult to match pan colors so not a big issue for me.

Buy different whites and try them in a hidden spot
I discovered spider vein cracks in an expensive Kohler sink in my second home. A dealer and an Ace Hardware Store employee both recommended Porc a fix and suggested that I purchase two white colors. I was warned by others' reviews that one looked a bit dark, and that's what they said. I thought my sink was bright white, but when I tried that color in a hidden spot underneath, it showed. Instead it was the "darker" white that matched perfectly.. The first application made my problems absolutely disappear in the places that I covered. But when I went back another day to cover the least visible cracks, I made a few serious mistakes. First, I simply shook the container a few times. And then I allowed a friend to apply the far thick product too heavily, and when I returned an hour later, it was impossible to remove the excess without leaving black bits of the enclosed sandpaper on the residue. When I read the information on the manufacturer's website, I found very specific instructions that are not on the container: shake the bottle for at least 30 seconds and then let it stand for a minute before opening. It also explains why the sandpaper is such a small piece, tells you that it's 220 grit, and suggests that you can use 360-600 grit silicon carbide sandpaper to save buffing time and how to use a hairdryer to speed drying time *READWHAT THEY SAY before trying it). l'm now heading to the hardware store and planning to do it right this time. I can't tell you how wonderfully the product worked when it was thin. Truly amazing. Just spend the money so you can try more than one shade. I think it was the American Standard white that worked on my Kohler Escale sink, but I'm not where the materials are as I write this.

revising orig review -picture is not as bright white as in person
Ok so I decided to start using the filler porc. fix I bought (samebrand) and it seemed ok but man messy and then decided to try this product since I can't return it anyways and it wasn't as off on the color of my sink as I thought due to picture when I ordered. it isn't bad but not a full match and this stuff is messier than filler and I am not that great at painting w this glaze the sink gouge I had but it works so I am amending my review.orig review-very disappointed I can't return this product to purchase a product that matches color of my porcelain sink which is bright white, the picture on this AS-1 product online looks bright white but it is not and now I am stuck paying $18 for something I can't use! seriously pissed.

This a great product and what a match and finished product looks great.
This product is great. You may have to try more then one to get the correct match. Bright white BS-1 was too bright and White AS-1 was as perfect a match as I could get. The pictures are 24", 12", 6" and the last Two are 2 inches away from the camera and I circled where the repair is because it is hard to see. The repair is almost seamless. It takes multiple coats and I bought sand paper that went from 600 to 2000 grit. If you use water and clean often while sanding you will prevent from getting the black flakes that can embed in the finish if you are not careful that other reviews talked about. I used 4 coats and sanded down relatively even across starting with heavier grit up to 1000 grit. Then I did one-two more coats to even every thing up and used just 2000 grit with water and cleaned it often for a really nice smooth finish. This is a great product and you can tell from when your sanding on it that it will hold up. I normally do not leave comments but this saved my remodel job from looking like crap because I chipped the tub during my remodel.

Be Careful!
Don't get duped! They make an all shades of white (perfect for matching) BUT not so much when issuing product numbers - SO BE CAREFUL (and exact!)There is an "AS-1" color white.... AND also, an "AS-1V" (so the latter has a "V" but they are completely different whites if you need the 1-V. The product without - has a GREEN BLUE TINT.You will not be able to use it (or return it) and 15cc's of the AS-1V is over $25.00. So you'll be stuck with the first and have to spend that as well to get the right color.
