Been using this brand for 8 years
I have been dying my hair dark red with Clairol Natural Instincts for 8 years now and my hair is not damaged at all. It is super easy to apply and people ask me at least once a week if it is my natural hair color. I was sad when they stopped selling it in stores near me but happy I could still buy it on Amazon without having to change brand. Little disclaimer, I change the formula a little bit. I replace 3/4 of the bottle with the white liquid with water. It helps a lot with not damaging your hair if you are going to dye it long term like me. The color stays the same and it's healthier for the hair.

Magnificent
I have been using Natural Instincts for most of my adult life. And my hair is in great condition because of this product. It leaves my hair beautifully colored and soft and shiny.

Dark Red turned my hair BLACK
Wish I had a picture, but want to get this review up asap to warn people. I had dark brown hair and this turned my hair BLACK. So confused and sad. The ONLY hairs it turned red are my gray hairs. SO DISAPPOINTED! Also, it would have been nice if at least the gray hairs would have been black as well. This color sucks. Stay away!! -- that said, I used a brown one previously and it was darker than I wanted, but it was decent looking. Wish I would have never tried a red. Sucks so much. Really hoping it fades back to brown!

This stuff is awesome!
I love this hair dye! It has no nasty smell like most hair dye. It is only semi permanent but it lasts for a while. This is the only hair dye i use.

great product can't find color in local stores anywhere so thanks for having this item. it is the only one I have liked for 14 years now.

New formula sucks. The color is a different, brighter red, and it's not a good red.
The color is a different, brighter red, and it's not a good red. I had the old formula in my hair, and bought this new formula to touch up my roots. The two colors were totally different. They need to go back to the old formula. Don't waist your money like I did. The colorant is a cream now and when you try to squeeze it into the activator bottle it makes a mess.
