These were good quality when you could get them. I don't think the 901 is available any longer. You have to use 901XL, which I've had issues using in my HP4500 printer.

I choose Original HP 901 Tri-color Ink Cartridge over the refill inks
Never had a problem with this ink and it was much cheaper online than at the mobile store. I would do a lot of printing but it would last me a good month when I use quick print. Using the quick print the quality was still nice did not have to use the better setting. The only time I use the better setting was when I was low on ink and I want to use up all the ink in the cartridge. I also tried my hand at refillable ink and doing it myself was not the way to go, I almost mess up my printer but I did buy refillable ink from a professional that new what they was doing. In the meantime I went back to buying the regular cartridges so I would not mess up my printer.
