Versatile Mirror Tap
I ordered this connector because it was available in a longer length than others I have seen. I particularly liked the many connection options available with the several tips offered for the product. I did install it in my 2011 Murano that has a smart mirror with homelink and noticed a click type sound from the speaker of my Escort 9500IX when I first connected the cord. The speaker emits this sound every time I connect the cord but it does not continue or interfere with the functionality of the unit. My mirror has three wires on the plug and I did as the instructions suggested to determine which slots to use for the cords. The instructions were very detailed explaining how to use a voltage meter to determine which wires to use in case you are not familiar with how to use one. The company even goes so far as to include a piece of electrical tape to secure the connections where the leads join the main braided part of the cord. Overall, this cord works great and I am very satisfied with it. I would recommend it to anyone.

Great for Uniden R3 in 2016 Charger SRT w/ Tech Package
I first tried a cheaper mirror tap cord that worked for a short while, but was poorly manufactured and eventually stopped working. Was holding back on spending this much vs. a fuse tap, but with the power distribution being much harder to access in the Charger, it was the easiest way to go. The 20" length was great to be able to run the wire up and out of the mirror (and rain sensor, and lane camera) trim piece vs. out of the side which looked pretty cheap. Where this really beats out the competition is quality. The RJ-11 connector feels a much better fit, and pulling on the cord to remove does not pull on the wire inside the connector. It is very solid. The in-line fuse, multitude of tap sizes, and alternating male and female adapters for the tap (would reduce the chance of an accidental short), and 1/2 an inch of shrink wrap to finish the connection, make this the one mirror tap worth buying. Well thought out and Made In The USA.

If you're considering a DIY cable vs. this one
Stop debating whether you should make your own cable and just buy this one. For several days, I contemplated making my own cable since I already own the RJ11 crimping tool. After I priced all of the materials such as pins, sheathing and fuse, I decided to go with this pre-made cord instead. In the end, I’m glad I didn’t go DIY because the cord would not have turned out as nice as the MirrorTap MTX brand. Even the shrink wrap used in this cable is high quality and remains flexible. Having multiple pins to choose from is also a huge help. The last thing you want to do is get half way into the job with your headliner console torn apart only to discover that you don’t have the correct pins. If you go the route of using an automotive splice, which I also debated, there’s no going back to OEM condition. Looking back, my only regret is that I wasted too much time researching the alternatives to this cable. And now, I’m wasting even more time writing a review... but hopefully it helps others who are making a similar decision.

Worked great !!
Just got done installing in my 16 maxima, and working great. Love the super clean ,neat, sharp, insall. Word of advice though, not a product fault, but my rearview mirror only has 3 wires running to it and I tried all combos, you have power, but when you turn off the vehicle there is still power to the detector I installed. So basically it doesn't shut off when I turn off the car. Again this issue has nothing to do with the mirror tap, that part works perfectly. Also like the variety of wires to help the install. A little pricey for such a small amount of product, but if you are like me, it's gotta work right, look sharp, clean insall.

Nice quality, saves time, would be better if longer cord length was offered...
Nice quality but a bit pricey. Saves a lot of time having different sized connector options so you can utilize just the right size when tapping off the rear view mirror connector. 20" was the longest length available. I am using a visor mount for my detector and it limited my options for placement. Another foot of length would be much better so I could mount it on the driver's side rather than the passenger side.

Fit was perfect
20” cable was a perfect fit for my Subaru with Eyesight.I only like to do something once and do it right the first time. The fit was perfect and my V1 mounted on the passenger side right next to my my Subaru Eyesight with no wires hanging down looks great!!You have to appreciate someone selling a product that works as well as this one does.

MTX-1020 Review for 2018 Camaro SS
Installed in 2018 Camaro SS. Fairly easy to install ... see videos on You Tube for reference. Good length for flexibility in moving radar detector location around on windshield. Pretty expensive in comparison to the standard 10" length version, but includes a variety of tips to best fit your particular power plug for that extra money.

Superb product, amazing customer service.
I've had a radar detector hardwired in every vehicle I've owned over the last 30 years. It's the first thing I do when I buy a new car. Usually the process involves removing various trim pieces, cutting and soldering wires, etc. With the MirrorTap I had my radar detector wired and running in 15 minutes. The quality is excellent, made in USA which is important to me. Equally impressive is the customer service from the manufacturer. All my questions were answered literally within minutes via email. Well worth the money!
