Of Course It's
A fake Laguiole. But; it's worth a lot more than 10% of a genuine Laguiole. Excellent finish. Nice weight. The 440 SS blade snaps open and shut like a much more expensive tool. The corkscrew, (though very small) if used effectively will open a bottle of wine. It walks the walk and talks the talk. What more can you ask for less than $30.00 US? Want a play-pretty to add to your collection? This one's a keeper.

Do Not Buy
This knife while obviously a fake, is a bad one at that. Terrible quality. The knife dulls itself by spring loading it shut and grinding the edge against bare metal. The knife is unfinished with sharp edges on the handle and totally butchered. It's clearly uneven. At best this is worth a couple bucks. Definitely not even close to being worth $30. Just get an opinel or save up for a real Laguiole.

Good cheap Laguiole style knife
It's an OK knife. For the price it's much less expensive than nicer Laguiole style knives, but quality is lower. It has a lot more side to side play on the blade than a well crafted version should, and the blade itself contacts the spacer on the inside and can slide back and forth, dulling the bevel. It's 440 stainless which is convenient if you don't need high performance sharpness. The pins kindof stand out too, not a perfect finish, but it's a good looking classic Laguiole style knife and if you don't want to spend the money on a truly good one, this is a fine knife.

Baladeo Laguiole corkscrew knife
A high quality, made in France, Laguiole style knife typically sells for more than $100. This Baladeo knife is not top quality, but for the Amazon price, I think this knife is a good value. The Laguiole style began in 1829 in southern France, and quickly became a favorite for farmers and a traditional French pocket knife. The corkscrew option was added in 1880. I noted the 1st customer review said he ordered the olive wood handle, and received the black horn handle. I ordered the black horn handle, and received the olive wood. The knife box has the wrong label, compared to the knife inside the box, and I sent feedback to Amazon about this problem.I think it was the 2nd customer review who said the knife he received was not sharp enough. In my opinion most commercial knives are not that sharp, so I always anticipate sharpening them. After 100 strokes on my V-shaped ceramic rod sharpener, this blade was very sharp. I bought this knife just for my French wine, cheese, and culture collectibles. For me it is more a novelty and occasional picnic knife, than an everyday working tool. I'm happy with the knife I received.

Well known brand amongst experts
Took to mystery gift exchange party. A friend made sure he ended up with this opener because he told me after that he had one but couldn't find it and missed it desperately. He know everything about it. So I was the hero of the night.

Really nice knife.
This is my everyday knife. It hasn’t replaced the buck on my belt but this is in my pocket every day. The bee on the back is beautiful. The blade is strong and has agreat edge out of the box.
