Medium Roast (1) - 100% Kona Coffee

Unfortunately this coffee is too inconsistent to be described. A perfect medium roast one month, dark and bitter the next. This isn't one coffee. It isn't one roast. It's just whatever they have on hand at the time.I served some to a friend yesterday, and we both found it undrinkable. I was able to finish most of a cup by watering it down 1/3. My friend had to mix it with chocolate milk, and had one cup.

As this is not a volume type of coffee in terms of sales, there is no telling how long this has been on the shelf and no roasting date on the actual bag. When pulling shots the crema is ok ~ not great, but not bad. I tried making 2 americano's ~ 1st pure kona and 2nd mixed with great tasting organic swiss water decaf from Peru. Both times there was an unpleasant aftertaste. Using the same machines to grind and brew, the organic swiss water decaf from Peru produced great coffee by itself, so the problem is definitely the Kona.

This coffee is excellent. I'm also happy that it's an American product and I don't have to worry about my purchase inadvertently supporting exploited workers in the third world.I discovered that the company sells it direct including shipping for 7 less, or 10 less if you get it as a subscription.

I’m looking for this smooth beautiful kona coffee I used to buy at the market in Little Rock. This is not it. It’s just not smooth enough for me. A tad bitter, and since I don’t like bitter at all, I’m just not impressed I guess. Not worth the price but I suppose worth looking for that perfect kona I used to buy.. the cheap “kona” I buy at tj Maxx is just as good.

This is great coffee, even plain ice coffee tastes great, not too bitter and interesting layered/complex flavor.

This is my only other 5-star Kona review. This is an amazing coffee. I absolutely LOVE IT!
