It works!
I had to trim the grip around the male plug to fit it into my input selector, but it works well enough

Worked to double tv inputs
I used this on a crt tv to double the number of svideo inputs so I could hook up two game consoles with svideo av cables. The cable isn't shielded but I didn't notice any noise or video degradation.

Quality is not great.
Buy a splitter with external power instead. This one will make both outputs 75% of the brightness with degraded colors. It works in a pinch, but after upgrading to a powered splitter I saw a massive quality improvement.

This doesn't effectively split s-video signal; output is unusable
Come to find out, you cannot split s-video like this. The voltage drop is too great and the luma signal essentially drops to half, causing dark unusable images at both ends. If you need to split s-video, you'll need to use a powered distribution amplifier. A product like this will not get you the output you need.Also, kinda funny: this product packaging says "DATA CHARGING Audio Video CABLE", and "High Quality Digital Cable". Neither of these descriptions are true. Just a weird, unusable product.
