Worth the extra money! I wasn't going to trust checks, cash, or important documents to a thin suggestion box. The gauge of metal is quite thick and heavy. Heavy enough to almost require a two person installation. You'll definitely want to try and find a stud to anchor off the one side. It comes with very decent screws but I opted to replace with concrete anchors for an interior block wall.The slot faces upward which makes it very easy to drop papers in, but this is also the reason it would not work outside. Maybe under a porch or overhang would be fine.There seems to be so many options for drop boxes on the market, but overall this seems to be the best Ive found. If it comes down to price, you'll be glad you spent the extra $ once you hold this in your hands.

This is a thick, heavy duty beast. Attach it with some lag bolts and it would easily survive a CAT5 hurricane. It is also easy to open (with the proper key, of course) and access the contents.NOTE: Because the mail slot is kind of wide and definitely not rainproof (or even rain resistant), you'll want to install this somewhere not directly exposed to the elements, such as a covered patio or covered porch, etc.

Ordered this to replace a much smaller cash box that wasn't adequate anymore. The slim profile is nice but was very surprised by how heavy it is. Wall anchors may not be sufficient, may need a plate to hang it on. Seems well made and did not notice any issues with poor coverage of the paint. This is inside so weather won't be a factor.

I bought this to use as a safe deposit box for my youth group. I am responsible for collecting money for various trips and events, so I bought this box for our kids to use so that if they couldn't find me or I was not at church a particular time, they could still have a safe way to turn in money, forms, etc. It has been absolutely fantastic! It's heavy duty and very sturdy!!!

The box itself is very high-quality and secure but the actual latch that holds it closed is very weak and you can pry the box open using only your fingers.

4 keys that came with it ..NONE of them work After a few months .. opened and closed it about 10 times.. went to open it one day and nothing!! Tried the other 3 keys and nothing.. keys would not fully insert in locking mechanism.. i tried light tapping it to push the key in the whole thing fell apart …

Item was delivered damaged. It has been returned for a full refund.
