InCharacter Noble King Men's Costume

I tend to go for the cosplay or ren-faire quality costumes. It can't look good unless it's super authentic, potentially screen accurate (if I'm going for that), the fabric has to be right, blah blah blah. This year, however, I was short on money, time and creativity. My two daughters were dressing as two different Disney princesses, and therefore I had to be a king. I looked for something that could work for King Arthur from Monty Python and the Holy Grail, but any crown I would have gotten that was screen-accurate would be very difficult for the price and time I needed it (I have a very large head and most hats don't fit very well).So I bit the bullet and got a store-bought costume. I feel ashamed. I knew it was going to be the cheapest material available. I knew it was going to look crappy up close. I just needed to be a king for my daughters, and as long I wasn't going to see anybody I know well, it would be OK.Then the costume came. I opened it up being pretty confident it was going to be mediocre at best, and I gotta say, I was pleasantly surprised.Yes, it's cheap material, but it doesn't look that way. The tunic looks good enough that when I make my Holy Grail costume, I may integrate that with it. The cape, while cheaply constructed, looks freakin' fabulous, even up close. The crown, belt and boot covers are made of vinyl, and therefore not the best. I can't speak to the boot covers, as I have good leather boots that fit the bill and didn't use the ones that came with the costume. The belt is probably the weakest link in the chain, but it's serviceable. If I had had more time, I would have used a thick leather belt, but I didn't have one available, and it looked pretty good even from a few feet away. The crown is a thick vinyl strip that has velcro on the ends, and you're supposed to wrap it around your head and fasten it like a baseball cap. Sounds terrible, right? But doggone it, it works really well.Is it the be-all end-all king costume? No. It's a mass-produced costume you can get at any store. But it's pretty much the best one of those you can buy.

This looks and feels great The only thing that isn't great is that the gems on the crown started falling off on day one. That said I don't care because the costume looks so good. Almost as good as on a movie set wardrobe

The costume overall was nice. I got lots of compliments, most common was "legit". The Cape didn't have a hole for the button, so I had to make one. It was tough to balance, but very nice. The boot covers worked well once they got some time out of package. The crown is rubbery and attached with small velcro strip. It wouldn't stay on my big head. Buy a separate crown and you're all set. Also, it was snug, but I am fairly muscular with some love handles.

This costume is SPECTACULAR! In person. After looking at every possible costume online and in the local stores during Halloween season we have settled for this one because if you could only see it you would know why.It is just fabulous! The detailing is amazing! The choice of fabrics and colors is fantastic and the quality FAR EXCEEDS the price level.It turns you instantly into a royal! It is fascinating how great it fits and how well it is proportioned.Absolutely breathtaking.LOVE IT! EEEEEEEEEEVERYONE LOVED IT!

Robe is very good quality. The rest is good quality. The crown - throw it away. The costume definitely worked for what it was intended for. I usually wear a L shirt and got the XL to have a bit more room. I definitely had more room - so I would say these run true to size.

This is a wonderful buy. You really get the value for your money and it looks awesome. I purchased this 5 years ago for my Princess 5th Birthday party where she was Sofia the 1st. Her mother and I dressed as the King and Queen, along with other parties dressing as the fairy good mothers. It was a hit :)

This costume was very nice. Arrived in a garmet bag which was nice. I bought an extra large and it fit, but he said it was a little tight in the shoulders. He is 73 inches tall and 205 lbs. The arms are mesh so he had to wear long sleeves underneath. The crown was awful. It was tiny so I had to buy elastic to extend it and it was an awful black color instead of the bronze color shown. Otherwise, he looked great and got lots of compliments. I also bought him a sword to go with it.

The costume itself it's beautiful. The only thing I didn't like about it was the crown. It's made of plastic and looks really cheap. I bought a separate crown and trashed the one the costume came with. The crown I bought is beautiful and adjustable. It was $69 or $89 original price, but I got it for less than $30.
