Strong teeth, easy to hold. Not easy to control w small cutting projects (will try miter box)
I actually bought this hand saw to cut very small pieces of wood that I picked up at Dollar Tree and well, it didn't go well at all! Lol! I may have just needed to use the miter box thing I have kicking around, but honestly I bought this so I wouldn't have to fuss with other supplies just to cut a small little stump in half. It was very hard to get through. That being said, I did use it to cut wood planks I also bought at Dollar Tree and had no trouble getting through that wood, but because I didn't use the miter box or anything, it wasn't easy to get a straight cut, lol! I'll definitely have to try it again with both pieces of wood in the miter box, hopefully it goes better with that. It is definitely easy to use, easy on the hands and pretty sharp and the teeth are tough. I like the Fiskars brand and also like that it comes with the blade cover and you can you can change the blade, as with most Fiskars products, which was a big selling point for me because I know their products are usually very easy to change out blades. I'd definitely recommend it for small projects, but I'd also suggest using a small miter box as well, because for smaller projects it's hard to control both the blade AND the wood your cutting..

Excellent variant on the Japanese "Pull" saw
I found this when looking for a saw to use in "parting off" spindle turnings on my lathe. The traditional Japanese style "pull" saws are either too flexible and can bind in the cut when the wood is under compression on the lathe or the depth of cut is limited by the stiffener on the back of the blade. The Fiskars saw cuts on the pull stroke and uses the same style of razor sharp teeth as the traditional Japanese saws but the blade is thicker and stiffer so it is unlikely to bind and bend on the push stroke. The result is a thin kerf and a clean "slicing" cut rather than tearing the wind fibers when cutting across the grain. (I haven't tried cutting with the grain.) It has the additional advantage of an ergonomically designed handle that I find much more comfortable to use than the traditional straight handle on Japanese saws. It comes with a "skeleton" sheath to protect the teeth when not in use and doubles as a quick ruler and straight edge. All in all it immediately earned a place among my collection of lathe tools and I am confident I will find lots of other uses around the shop and around the house. My only problem is keeping my wife from poaching it for her crafts.

Works Great but Be Careful!
I love this tool but please be careful when removing it from the protective cover! The 'top' of the tool is sharp! Yes, the smooth top of this saw is sharp! While having a challenge removing it from the cover I sliced my thumb pretty deep! So I don't use the protective cover anymore. Be Careful!

Not that it's a pull saw
Just doesn't feel sturdy in the hand, but I may have been moving too fast.Slow strokes may help.

Great ergonomic and sharp saw!
Very nice, very sharp saw. Works best on harder woods as the cutting teeth are coarse and will splinter up soft woods. Worked quite well on my project containing 1/4" and 1/2" standard plywood, as well as 1/4" hard hobby plywood. Blade has alot of flex to it, but can be used on thicker woods if you're careful and steady, since it's so sharp. Ergonomic handle is very comfortable to use. Definitely recommended!

Pull saw - really cuts!
I bought this just for casual quick cutting, but it's darn sharp and a nice thin kerf so I could totally see me reaching for it instead of my Suizan Japanese pull saw. Nice!
