Follow up 12/2019 Lights up, seems powerful. Has the right frequencies.
The only problem I've had is that it gets hot. If you lay against it, it will soon get very hot. It gets hot because there is no venting. I fixed this with mine by taking the back off (power unplugged, duh!) and adding spacers to make the back stand off about 1/4 inch. leaving an air gap. Another way I could have done that would be to remove and cut slots in the fiberboard back then reattach. You could also cut slots in the sides of the plastic. The plastic is not high quality. I broke some of the stanchions that the screws go in, just by leaning against it. I'm very forgiving on my rating because it is less than 1/4 the cost of smaller better made units. For the price: 5-Stars.I made a holder for it. I wish it had a standard threaded camera mount hole. I had a tripod so I mounted a flat curtain rod on it and put a short section of the slider to the back of the device using double-stick tape. I uploaded images. There is a counter-weight on the other end.I had been using a 660mn red laser unit on my scalp and, over several months, my hair is less thin. It isn't like it was when I was a teen but it's a noticeable change. I can't see my scalp as well and the area where it is thinner than I'd like is a smaller area. I wish I'd taken some pics for before/after. Sorry. I hate it when people don't do that. :-)I got this unit to add the Near Infrared light for joints and muscles. The red unit by itself also worked to remove pain. A 10-minute use would make the pain better and over time the improvements became longlasting. I'm nearing 70 (!) and have a lot of injuries and arthritis. It really helped my neck and I hope this, with the broader area and the addition of the NIR will be even better.I suggest looking up LLLT or low light therapy or other keywords at the NIH web site. p u b m e d . g o v It's a great use of our tax dollars and the summaries are most often perfectly understandable if you have even a little medical knowledge and a basic understanding of what a good vs. a bad study design is (more subjects are good, double-blind is good, peer-review is good, higher percentage of a positive effect is good. A meta-study summarizing all earlier studies is really, really good.)

Great for the face
I bought four of these because I never want to run out of my red light therapy, also gave three as gifts, not counting that I already owned one that I purchased 3 years ago. I use it on my face as many times as I can during the week, at the beginning, my skin looked great, poreless and fantastic, with time I don't see much difference anymore as I use different products and devices, but I will keep using it forever, I notice my break outs healing faster when I use the light. I have tried it for pain but I couldn't say that it has healed me, because I don't use it constantly, but I'm a firm believer in LED light therapy, the only bad thing is that the cord started to wear out and teared apart where it connects to the device, but I just put some duct tape on it and keeps working after almost 4 years of use. Definitely recommend it!

Very satisfied!
I have been doing research on LLLT / Red light therapy and wanted to try it. I purchased this panel and a bulb from sgrow. A family member who recently had round 2 of surgery is trying out the bulb. The bulb arrived fast and works well. Still to early to see if it is helping with healing but early indications are positive. The panel was to arrive in weeks, and sgrow was fantastic - they worked with me to get it much sooner. They were very responsive to my messages. A+++++ to customer service :-)The out of the box experience was very positive and some unexpected bonuses. It was packaged well. The frame is a light silver plastic, where it might have been metal / aluminum (which might have been more durable in the long run?) However, the positive is that it is very light weight, which I think is better. If you are using this while laying down, this is appreciated. Pics show a person leaning on the device on a couch. Not sure if I would do that (fear of cracking it).A nice surprise - on the back, each side has a small hanger and a four hook hanger was included in the package. Very smart. Instructions were clear and well written.A suggestion - to turn this on, you need to plug it in. A small rocker switch next to the plug would be helpful. The cord needs to be well seated in the device, otherwise it can fall out. I got a countdown timer to use with this - I can set the device for 10 min, 20 min, 30 min, 1 hour, etc.... That makes it very easy to use. The device gets slightly warm, very comfortable to the touch. As for the effectiveness, time will tell. I have some specific things I would like to monitor over time. As it turns out, I happen to have a chest cold and have been using this for a few days. When I use the device 2x a day, for a few hours after I use the panel my cough is noticeably less. Much less. Nothing else changed (cough meds, supplements). It has gotten better over the last few days, although it may be the natural healing process. More testing to come.Overall, I am very happy with this purchase and would purchase again. It is different than other devices that cost 4-5x and more. From what I read in the research, the difference in use is the amount of time that you use the device. My goal was to try this without sinking a ton of money into this experiment. There are over 5000 research studies that positively support the effectiveness of this therapy and studies are exploring more uses every day. I am still learning more about this, and will keep reading and testing.Nice job, sgrow. I appreciate your customer support and the product that you offer.

Seems to be working
The light, itself, works fine. I bought it for my foot, as I had surgery on it about a year ago and still has pain. I was hoping to speed up the remainder of the healing. After a few sessions, i do feel like i have some noticeable improvement in the amount of pain. Is it all gone? No, but it's improved. Not sure if I'll continue to see improvement or not given more time.

Buy a real light therapy machine.
It doesn’t do anything. Buy a real one instead. I bought a real red light machine for $600. It made my skin look better, tightened my skin and I’m loosing a pound a day with exercise... this thing did help with my back pain or muscle soreness. It also looks cheap.
