This thermometer is terrible-I am throwing it away-I would give it zero stars if I could-it is borderline unsafe and can either cause you into an unnecessary panic or under estimate a serious fever in your child. I never get consistent readings on myself or my kids, ear or forehead. The further a temp is from norm, the more variation in the temperature readings-not such an issue when it fluctuates from 99.3-100.9 but the experience that prompted this review was fluctuating between 102.5 and 104.7-after many attempts on the forehead and ear. Follow up with other thermometers that we had relied on in the past consistently showed her temp was above 103 but under 103.6-so basically this one failed at the most important function of an at home thermometer-telling us when at home fever reducers will do vs when it is time to call on the professionals. I was excited to have an option that would allow for me to take their temperature without waking them but this is not a product to trust with your loved ones health!!

I'm a nurse and bought this because the thermometers at work kept disappearing, so it was a hassle to track down equipment to work with.Our work thermometers are oral digital type. Fast for that kind but still slow for my standards.This thermometer is MUCH faster, results in 1-2 seconds. Accurate. I have tested it against the oral thermometers and they match extremely well, within 0.1 degree on average.Been operating on original batteries with daily use for 2-3 months now, so low drain.I love the fact that it has dual use, forehead and ear. Comes in handy when people come in from weather. Just be sure and keep the probe clean. Eww.Oh, this has been dropped a couple of times and has not suffered any damage. So tough and well built.Now the other nurses on my shift have been wanting to borrow this one from me when there are a lot of vital signs to be taken. I'm usually nice and say yes unless I need it at the time. Though if they are busy I was always likely to help them as much as I could.I pack mine up and take it home at the end of every shift.I bought mine before the panic set in, so I only paid $19 for mine. I saw the panic coming well in advance. Still, if you NEED a thermometer right now, this is your best investment. If you can wait for one, wait for the price to come back down.

Was super excited to get my first non-“under-the-tongue” thermometer. Used a few times, and it seemed to be reading somewhat low, as I know my temperature is usually around 98 and it was reading 90? Re read the directions, tried it in my ear in four different ways, and my forehead. Each time was so inconsistent. 90, 96, 94, 92. Thought maybe I used some old batteries in it, bought a fresh pack of Duracell, reloaded and was hopeful this would now work. Nope. Gave it a good 6 months and it’s just too unreliable.

I bought 1 and it had readings that were about 5 degrees off. compared it to my doctors.returned it.Got another one and it worked well for about a week and then it also was about 5 degrees off. said I was at 89 Falso If I checked my temp in my ear and took another reading and then another one, they would be off by up to 7 degrees and if i took more readings from the exact same ear, even within a few seconds, it would be another reading off by degrees from the previous reading.

Honorable product.. when i finally got the chance to use this product it would give you false readings...the readings would be completely inaccurate...99.9 to 105 out of three readings.....if you actually bought one of there throw it away...and the biggest upset of it all is that i cant return this junk....

It shuts off on its own while you're still scanning! So frustrating Im not even gonna bother to return it! I tried replacing the batteries thinking they were low, but NOPE! Read all instructions and troubleshooting! Save yourself the time and frustration and get a different thermometer.

If I could give this ZERO stars I would. I'm a nurse who purchased this right before Covid hit the U.S. The readings are so, so off. I was using this thermometer when covid started in Florida in April, my husband was ill with double pneumonia with a FEVER and it was still giving me normal readings!!!Now when using the thermometer it literally doesn't give any readings above 93.0 temporal. Irregardless of how close to skin the probe is placed, still inaccurate reading. So disappointing!

The product is very inaccurate! The readings on this thermometer doesn’t match the Doctor’s readings at all. We tried it on different people and water temps and all the readings were inaccurate. The other two thermometers used matched the Doctor’s reading exactly each time, but this thermometer readings were everywhere. I would STRONGLY SUGGEST YOU DO NOT GET THIS THERMOMETER!!! Our baby was born with a medical which depends on the accuracy of those readings and they were completely wrong!!! I ended up purchasing a regular thermometer for the baby that reads accurately but uncomfortable for the baby.
