Nothing fancy here. This is just a really decent kitchen scale with a removable plastic bowl. It's switchable between grams/kilograms and ounces/pounds with a small switch on the bottom. Accuracy? I don't know that I'd use it for absolute precision measurement (and with resolution limited to whole grams or tenths of an ounce it's not really suited for that anyway) but for a kitchen scale it's plenty accurate enough. I've checked it with some known weights and the calibration straight out of the box is very close. Very. If this scale says you have 16 ounces of something, you're within a tenth. And if it says you have 450 grams, you're within a gram or two.One feature I really like which I see no mention of anywhere is that this scale does auto-tare at startup. If the included bowl is on the scale when you turn it on, that becomes zero. If no bowl is on the scale when you turn it on for use without the bowl, then that becomes zero. And if you want to use a dinner plate, mixing bowl or other container for your measurements, if it's on the scale empty when you turn the scale on, thanks to auto-tare at turn on, that becomes zero.Want a practical advantage for auto-tare? Easy. I've been keeping a food diary for the last few months in an effort to retrain my eating habits. One part of that effort has been to make myself aware of portion sizes so I can keep up with calories, protein, etc. Using the built in auto-tare, I can start with a plate with a slice of bread on it when building a sandwich. That becomes the zero weight. Then as I add the filling on top, I get an accurate measure of the portion weight of the filling without having to dirty up another container or bowl.For the price I think this scale is a very good value. It's cheap, but it isn't junk. If you need a kitchen scale that can handle from a few grams up to about 5 kilos/11 pounds and don't want to spend a lot of money, this is the scale you're looking for.

I have bought at least 6 of these over the years for use in my small home-based business. Overall, they are very accurate. However, at least 3 of them would randomly be off by .1 ounce. For me that's critical. I often make batches of product. Even though the scale shows all zeroes while weighing, it's off by .1 ounce and I end up short of dough when I get to the end. i hit the reset button to zero and re-weigh the ones that are inaccurate. This model is also slow compared with the newer model that is similar. Whether or not that one drifts at all I don't know. As it is it suits my needs.

The AWS kitchen scale is a very handy tool to use around the house, and provides readings in oz. and gms, and also has a tare feature. While I had a problem with the first one with readings being unstable, it was easy to return. However, instead of replacing it, I was given a refund and purchased another one which was fine. The disadvantage was that I now had to pay shipping which was free with my previous larger order with Amazon.If you are on a diet, and would like to weigh your food input, this is an easy way to keep control of your intake, and it really works. It is also convenient as most pro bakers go by weight and not by volume. If you're baking bagels or rolls, its easy to keep them the same size by weighing. I also found it easy to weigh letters to avoid putting that extra stamp on "just in case". The only thing I don't like about the scale was that it was made in a foreign country as many products are. I can't help but think I am putting another American out of work by buying products such as this.

While I was looking for a kitchen scale, I was certainly swayed to this one because of the photo. After ordering it, the company e-mailed me to let me know the photo was incorrect and asked if I still would like to order. As I needed a scale to weigh neo-nate orphan kittens, I said go ahead & send. Works great, perfect size for the tiny babies, who are now too big for to fit in the bowl. I was impressed that they contacted me. If I need a baby scale for the bigger kitten, will certainly will certainly look to this company.

This is a handy little scale at a surprisingly low price. It accurately measures in grams or ounces/lbs. A clever design feature is that the bowl can be inverted to serve as a cover in storage. The bowl is just the right size for most uses and it has a lip that makes pouring liquids easy. The scale measures items as light as letters for calculating postage and heavier objects up to about 10 pounds. The digital display is back-lit and its large numbers are easy to read. I especially like the fact that it is battery powered, so there is no tangled cord to mess with. This item is a welcome addition to my "Compleat Minimalist Kitchen."

It's fantastic to use, better than I expected. It turns on by pressing the button for a few seconds and turns off by pressing for a few seconds so I don't have to worry about the battery life span too much. Just the right size & weight to manage my usage with this product.

It works perfectly for what I need it for...the only thing I'm knocking off a star for is that it runs through the batteries pretty quickly. It is inconsistent with it's auto off feature...so I've just gotten in the habit of turning it off manually each time so as not to waste battery power.
