ONE of the BEST
I've wanted Discus for decades but just about everything you read makes it sound like a very difficult and expensive hobby to keep them. This book makes it clear that amateur fish keepers can do it by using common sense and the guidelines in this book by a well respected breeder of Discus, Dick Au. Yes, they need warmer water of high quality with regular water changes, good filtration and quality foods but it's not necessary to keep them in bare tanks with high temps and constant water changes or make your own food. Plenty of specific information if you want to try to breed them which does require more intensive care. Lots of color photos. Get this book and Discus Fish by Giovanetti and you'll know what you need to do to keep these fish healthy & happy. Giovanetti's book includes very easy to understand instructions plus a great section on using live plants in Discuss aquariums. Buy Both Books!

Don't be fooled
Don't be fooled by the size of this book and the number of pictures. It is not a picture book. It is loaded full of information on everything from selecting and feeding your fish to breeding them. The section on artificially raising fry is alone worth the price. It may not be the biggest book on discus out there, but it is certainly among the best. This is an excellent book by one of the leading authorities on discus.

Fish Information
I bought this book for my hubby who has gotten back into aquarium fish with our son and both have found this book to be very informative. I will now be purchasing a 2nd book for our son.

Little more information needed
This is a very good book on buying, keeping and breeding discus. There are lots of colour photographs of wonderful fish. The advice on buying breeding pairs should be compulsory for all budding discus breeders and chapter on rearing fry artificially is superb. However every now and again I felt that there should have been a little more information and less picture. That said if you haven't got a book on discus then this one will do most things that you need it to.Back to Nature Guide to Discus
