A 12" vinyl LP by Rose Royce - Original Sound Track of Car Wash

NORMAN WHITFIELD GOES TO THE PICTURES
So picture the scene , in a nightclub coming upto Christmas 1976 and you hear the intro to "Car Wash " for the first time , the clapping and the throbbing funk , awesome . You then find out it is a soundtrack album produced by Norman Whitfield for his new group Rose Royce and it has probably half a dozen stand out tracks as well as the scene setting , incidental stuff you get on film scores . What a great debut album for Rose Royce that was still giving them hit records when their first proper album "In Full Bloom " came out the following Summer . MCA did release a "Best Of Car Wash " on the back of the hits to make it less "soundtracky" and cheaper as a single LP rather than the double LP of the soundtrack . But a great album to have in it's original guise .
