A belt is essential. You can't lift to your full potential without locking down your core. A belt provides something for your core muscles to push against to lock it down. Even with strong core muscles flexed there is still room for your spine to move out of alignment. With a belt, your flexed core muscles fill up the limited space and lock it down.I have a cheap 2-ply felt dual-prong 4" belt that is frankly barely usable. It hits my ribs and restricts my movement. It's distracting, and I have to actively work on ignoring the discomfort while lifting. It's also hard to fit the prongs in the holes (with seven kids, it's not a problem I normally have). The starting strength belt eliminates all those problems and its stronger. The single ply of top grain leather is incredibly strong and beautiful. It's easy to match the prong with the holes, and the tail loop is extra large so you don't waster time trying to force it. The rivets are super strong. This belt will last a lifetime. Best of all, it's not too wide so it doesn't hit my ribs and distract me from listing. I can leave it on during my whole session without any discomfort. Worth every penny. I personally prefer leather belts over nylon. Needed a lighter, thinner, more flexible weight belt then my INZER lever-belt. Sometimes the MOST SUPPORT MECHANICALLY POSSIBLE isn't the right answer. Sometimes depending on how you need your body to move, like in a power clean or oly lift you need a thinner or more narrow belt. This belt fits that bill exactly. This is a lot of belt for the money and will last for years. Buy with confidence.Packaging, delivery, and timeliness were all good.

Nothing fancy about this belt - other than that it does what it is meant for. It is a solid leather belt that will support your back during heavy lifts. If you had pain and bruises using 4” tall belts like me, this 3” all around belt will feel so much more comfortable.

The belt fits great. Very high quality leather and workmanship. The buckle is solid, too. The 3” belt width is very comfortable vs. a 4” since the 4” wouldn’t fit well between my hip and rib cage. The 7mm thickness fees great for the press and dead lifts. It works well for squats, too, though I plan to purchase the 10mm version once my squat work set gets heavy enough.

Paid $150 for a new “Starting Strength” belt. Visibly used and, frankly, gross.

The sizing chart is wrong. I was going to order a small belt, but after reading the size chart that said " use waist size, not pants size" I measured my waist to make sure. My pants size is 30", but tape measure said my waist is 32", so according to the size chart I need the medium, should be 2 holes left if God forbid I lose weight (skinny enough as is).Got the belt, found it very gorgeous. Tried it on, last hole and I'm spinning the belt "right round baby right round". I literally fit an arm through while on the LAST hole. I'm going to have to drill 2 holes at least in this brand new belt, because I'm not returning it. Shipping to northern Canada takes so damn long and I'm at the point in my training where I need a good belt like yesterday. I can't afford to wait to ship it back and wait some more for a new one, weights are heavy enough now I need a belt to train. So I'll poke 2 extra holes and make due. I'll have like a over a foot of loose belt at the end.Very disappointed in the fact that the chart is so darn off. Go with the pants size folk, seriously.I would've given a five star review, if the size was right. But that size chart needs review.Besides that, very beautiful belt. Looks like quality.

This is my first weightlifting belt, but this thing just oozes high quality. Quite simply, amazing. The leather is top quality, as is the workmanship. I've only used it during 1 workout so far, and it's not at all uncomfortable like what I was expecting.This is clearly the highest quality and best belt I've owned in my life.No complaints at all, including the price.
