From the Manufacturer Rolls Royce is been known as the epitome of luxury and comfort in automobiles and the 1962 Phantom Squire takes it to the next level. This vehicle started with the well-known durability of a Rolls Royce design added the classic lines of a 4-door sedan and added a rich wood panel for an elegant effect.

Wrong scale sent.
The car is suppose to be 1/16th scale but is actually 1/24 scale. Don't order it.

crude quality
I have never purchased a Minicraft model before and I wish I hadn't bought this one. I is a very crude model. The engine is one blog of plastic. If it had cost 10 dollars that would have been a more realistic price for it. At best it is a beginner model.

Excellence.
I want to start off by saying that the only other review of this model on Amazon, at present, is most unfair. The sole reason for its one-star rating is that it's too simple, apparently. As if that has anything to do with how the model, overall, should be rated. But that's what I'm here for, right? To tell you the truth. The other reviewer didn't lie, though. This is a Skill Level 2 kit model, and that means the most basic assembly with painting and gluing added in. If you want something more complex, on a higher skill level, look elsewhere. That's all there is to it. But, if you want to hear of how this kit's greatness lies in its very simplicity, read on.The Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud Phantom Squire kit model is based off a custom Silver Cloud that supposedly was built for an American owner and exists on the West Coast of the United States. This is a custom of the Silver Cloud II. The only difference between this and Minicraft's Silver Cloud II model is that this one includes a set of slide-on decals, to add the wood paneling that runs the length of the real car. That said, it really is quite a difference. I've assembled one Silver Cloud II and one Phantom Squire, and majestic as the standard Cloud is, the Phantom Squire really takes home the prize. Rolls-Royces are by nature special cars. The Silver Cloud is more special still. And the Phantom Squire- build this kit right, and you needn't worry about how you can't go anywhere in it. Just put it in your living room and spend your days just looking at it.And that's precisely the point, here. The Phantom Squire kit comes with a chassis, axles, tires and wheels, radiator, hood ornament, two hood pieces, four window pieces, body piece, steering wheel, dashboard, interior piece, and boot piece, along with bumpers, head and tail-lights. Oh, and a single-piece engine block. Among professional modelers this is on so low a level of complexity you could work on the Squire with one hand while filing your taxes with the other. Or so it would seem. But I disagree with the idea that, because of its simplicity, this model is a waste of your time if you're a skilled modeler. Think for a moment about what a Rolls-Royce is. Yes, they are complex and ridiculously expensive cars, and yes, a *lot* goes into making one. But what matters, in the end? The finished product. The end result. How it looks, inside and out. Rolls-Royces aren't made to be cars so much as they are made to be rolling cathedrals, works of art on a level almost nobody can possibly afford. The simplicity of this kit, though, allows you to do what Rolls-Royce does. Don't fuss over the details- how long it'll take, what it'll cost. That doesn't matter, and because of how simple the kit is, there really isn't much to worry about anyway. Do what I did with this kit- pick out your colors, concentrate on making the car look the way you want it to. With this kind of car, that's all there is to it.
