After two pairs of Nooz reading glasses, which both broke within 7 months, I decided to try a different brand. I was immediately struck by the fact that these Didinsky reading glasses have a metal bridge and the lenses are actually glass. Nooz, which are about the same price, are entirely plastic, resulting in a nose bridge that doesn't hold up very well. Time will tell if the Didinsky glasses are more durable, but my initial reaction is that they will be. You really can't go cheap in terms of materials with something like this, as you are dealing with very thin margins. I understand the need to keep the price down, but somehow Didinsky did it, offering a very attractive and sturdy solution to the modern pince nez.

These glasses are really useful for reading menus at restaurants or for me, small print in general. They fit nicely in a side pocket in my bag. I did have problems keeping them on my nose, I think its because the bridge of my nose is high but after much practice they easily pinch (it doesn't hurt) onto my nose and stay put. Very handy !!

Thought these glasses looked "hard wearing" . Unfortunately 3 month later they are no longer wearable.Couldn't stand daily wear and tear of daily life!!

Very poor. The problem is that both the glasses and case are made of wood - I thought it was a pattern but it is wood. It’s not even well finished wood, the case is rough and heavy. It has a steel back which makes it weigh the same a regular pair of glasses and case which rather defeats the object. The glasses are a real lesson in ‘just because it’s possible we should do it’. As a novelty, they are great - “hey, have you ever had splinters from glasses?” But functionally they are rubbish. I made a classic amazon mistake thinking the more expensive meant better. Wrong in this case. Avoid unless you’re in it for the novelty.
