As others have noted, there are a lot of problems with this book. Of the 4 recipes I've tried, 2 of them had missing/incomplete ingredients or instructions. Luckily (but also take note potential buyer), you can easily find the same (complete) recipes on-line for free -- with photos (which this book lacks).Also, I later received in the mail a flyer advertising their website. I visited the site, hoping to find more complete recipes than the book, but it's just a site selling vegetarian mock meats and supplies -- no recipes that I could find. Seems like this book may just be a way for them to drive customers to their site...The only reason I gave this 2 stars instead of 1 is that it did provide me with some ideas or starting points for recipes, but the recipes themselves are too flawed to be trusted. Save yourself the bother and money and just search for (for example) "vegetarian filet mignon recipe" online -- you will likely find the same recipes as in this book, but with complete instructions/ingredients and photos.

Just tried one recipe and thought they wanted too much vegan milk added but I did what they said anyway, and the meat came out like pudding. So hopefully the rest of the recipes I try will be better.

I liked some of the recipes and some seemed like a copout and didn't belong. Anyone can bread a piece of tofu and call it a mock meat. That's not a inventive idea. And there were way to many breaded tofu recipes. Just some of the recipes seemed to me way simple for me to have paid for.

I just made the tofu-free nuggets with a slight variation (added hot pepper) and they were positively delicious. Even my mega carnivore dad approved. Crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside and flavorful. No frozen meat substitute compares to these.

You get what you pay for and books (sometimes) are no exception. These recipes will turn out great after you do some major tweaking. I get the feeling that the author did not make these recipes but whether found them on the internet and cut/paste. I think I paid $2 for the Kindle version and I want a refund. Customers beware. Unless you have $2 to burn, spend extra money on another book.

I have purchased TONS of books on Amazon, and lots of them fairly low priced. But this is without a doubt the very WORST one. First there are literally HUNDREDS of grammar errors and just careless errors in measurement. The one recipe I tried was just GARBAGE. My dogs wouldn't even eat it.

I got several good recipes from this book. This book has a varied selection of recipes and I think most people will find at least a few to add to their vegan meals.

Great recipe book. Had to have my kidney removed and doctor recommended going vegetarian.These recidpes are not just vegetarian--they are good!

Exactly what I wanted - a very comprehensive handbook. I plan to use this when living in South-East Asia, where there's only a limited supply of commercially-produced mock meats.

One of the better books on the market for Seitan and such. I look forward to making some of these recipes in the future.

This book was not to bad but would have like some new ones. These are like old ones recycled. Other than that not to bad

I'm giving it 5 stars based on just one recipe which is the Fakun Bacon, no gluten just beans and buckwheat with flavourings and without doubt the best bacon analogue I've tried, far superior to any store bought version which have the unpleasant reality of reminding one of cardboard. This isn't to slight the other recipes but I have most of the others in other books, this book collects and offers them at an affordable price.
