Don’t buy kindle version!!!
The kindle version of this book it useless. There are no sections, chapters, or index- no way to find recipes except to flip through every page, which with a physical book is annoying but doable, with a kindle impossible and aggravating.

Tailored for meal prep.
Good food but not simple at all. Every recipe seems to call for soaking overnight or using a sauce from the book which takes extra time. It is in no way shape or form simple meals unless you modify and skip the sauce or spice but than where's the flavor? If you want to make food when you are hungry this is a frustrating book. It is more for meal prep planned out days ahead.

No nutritional value after recipe, not like the older version.
I liked the other version, it gave the nutritional value after the recipe. Also, i preferred the organization of the other book by the same author, seemed less clutter.

Informative but unusual flavor profiles
I really like the idea of this book, and the foreword is a really great intro to vegan eating and cooking, however a lot of the meals are complicated (multi-step type recipes where 1 recipe might reference 2-3 other recipes in the book that you also have to make for sauce, etc) and the flavors of a lot of the recipes just aren’t my taste. So far I’ve enjoyed ~40% of the recipes I have made from this book

Watch What The Health and Buy this Book. Then feel great!!
I'm a big fan of the no meat athlete and this book does not disappoint. Well done! Must buy for vegans or anyone transitioning. We certainly do not need meat to be healthy or strong. I cured my illness with a meat diet said nobody ever. Billions of animals are tortured every year for this unhealthy habit. Billions. It's unethical and unnecessary. Watch "What The Health" documentary and clean up your diet. It feels good to feelgood!

Great cookbook with normal ingredients!
I absolutely love this cookbook! It has tons of great recipes with ‘normal’ ingredients that most people actually keep on hand. Plus the recipes are pretty easy and quick to prepare which is great for my active lifestyle when I don’t have hours and hours to spend everyday cooking. Also, I love that this book has lots of photos of the foods. For me, that is a big thing in a cookbook when I see a photo and it looks amazing, if course it makes me want to cook it more then just seeing the ingredients. I bought 3 vegan cookbooks so far and this one is by far my favorite so I highly recommend it to anyone even if you aren’t vegan!

Getting more out of it than I thought I would
This is a decent vegan cookbook. The caveat being you need to be somewhat of a cook that can figure things out. I made the olive-chipea flour waffles and the batter was watery thin following instructions, so I ended up adding a lot more of the chickpea flour. The waffles are alright, i would probably not put the olives in next time. The Blueberry Scones calls for 2 teaspoons of sugar but it never appears in the recipe. I am assuming it is to be sprinkled on top of scones prior to baking as the ingrediant is the last listed and 2 teaspoons of sugar is not enough to do anything to the batter. The No Bake Mocha Cheesecake is wonderful and easy. I did cheat and use a premade Oreo crust, but I am not a big sweet eater and this dessert is perfectly sublime without being overly sweet. The Classic Kale Salad is great to keep a large amount on hand. I did not realize it needed 8 hours to marinate and we ate it after about an hour, it was fine. And even better next day.As an endurance athlete there are plenty of good recipes I will try. I have a huge collection of vegan cookbooks and this one has actually got quite a bit of stuff I will try so it is worth it. You just need to know you may need to tweak the recipes some.

It's fine but not what I was looking for.
It's fine as a cookbook. The recipes are fine. I'll keep it for that reason. But I bought it specifically because I was interested in making sure my meals had a good plant-based protein source that was well balanced and this book misses that mark for me. In the introduction, the author reiterates the idea that plants have "plenty of protein" and you don't need to worry about it. Well, that's not true for me. I was showing signs of protein deficiency after a year of sticking to plant-based and not paying attention to my nutrients. Lesson learned! Instead of adding animal products back in I've focused on finding plant sources and was hoping this cookbook would make it easy on me. Like others have commented, there's no nutritional info for the recipes. So I've gone elsewhere for my needs and this book will go on the shelf for now. I will say that now I've been making sure to specifically get at least 8 grams of (plant-based) protein in my meals my issues have cleared up and I feel much more satisfied by my food and less likely to stray or seek out snacks. If I'm craving cashew ice cream or other naughty things, I drink a chocolate protein shake and I'm set. So for me the author's advice to ignore protein amounts is just plain wrong.

ZERO NUTRITIONAL INFO - WTF
I would say 5 stars for the recipes but this book just hasn’t been thought out.Why on earth do you call this a ‘athlete’ book when you don’t cite any nutritional info per recipe? It’s ridiculous. Which then makes it a bit expensive at £10 for a standard veg book tbh.Anyway, you’ve been warned

I Love this book
Every single recipe I have cooked from this book has been outstanding and I must have cooked at least a third of them already. The recipes are simple but deliver complex tastes and are really satisfying. The book has a great section at the front outlining all the latest research on plant based nutrition in an easy to digest fashion. Although the book is called no meat athlete, the recipes are definitely not just for those who love to exercise (although I do and they are great for that) it works well as a family cook book and we cook from this book a couple of time every week and our 5 & 7 year old love the meals from this book.I have about 50 cook books - honestly if I have to save 3 in an emergency this is definitely one i would grab!!!

Senseless unnecessary ingredients
I'm quite disappointed with this cookbook. The recipes on there seem to have ingredients that are hard to come by, expensive and barely necessary for the recipe.Kombu (japanese ingredient) in refried beans (mexican dish)... Why?Or miso in a butternut squash soup?I've just searched the recipes online to get the recipes before the hipster modifications

Good recipes, lacking detail nutrition information for recipes
So far I like this cookbook, I have tried out a fair few recipes and was happy with the results. The one negative point I have is that for a book of this type there are no nutritional information listed for the individual recipes.

Excellent book for anyone serious about health
Whether a serious athlete or someone just looking to become or stay healthy, this is a great book. Not just full of recipes but lots of advice and information. I have read many books about healthy living and this is one of the best whether you are vegan or not. It's a book for everyone
