Sting - The Brand New Day Tour: Live From The Universal Amphitheatre

This DVD is the perfect example of why Sting has remained a musical icon for so many years. Sting has the ability to evolve with time, as this collection shows. Only a few greatest hits - most titles here are from his latest studio release "Brand New Day" and that is not a bad thing if you enjoy the Sting of the present. Those looking for a Police reunion or 20 "Greatest Hits" songs should stay away. Although he performs a few titles from the past - Sting really shines with the new material, mostly attributed to the incredible band backing him on the tour. Great sound and video quality, whith applause, percusion and a bit of echo filling your back speakers in 5.1 If you enjoy Stings solo career, buy this DVD - you will not be disappointed.

What a GREAT concert DVD! There are a lot of surprises in the concert. Sting performs masterfully. Sound quality is good but struggles when the equalizers fail to balance lyrics with instrumentation in some critical places. However, a guest appearance from the one and only Stevie Wonder and a fantastic version of Desert Rose with Arabian vocal phenom Cheb Mami - outstanding! Englishman in New York, Tomorrow we'll see, and an acapella version of message in a bottle - make this DVD well worth the price!P.S. The backing vocals "The Scream" are Gorgeous!!

Whenever you see Sting perform live on stage without the Police, it seems that his persona...his egotistical image...comes forth as much as his musical talent. His solo hits certainly speak for themselves, but his Police ensemble hits do too.As other reviewers have noted, the Desert Rose piece is particularly well done here; frankly, I could do without the rest of the album, which has been done better elsewhere. I got the DVD for Desert Rose...and I don't regret it.

Wonderful! Sting performs his best works! Somewhere along the way, Sting changed his musical style, to the dismay of we who loved the old Sting. After his jazz ensemble that followed the break from The Police disbanded, his music took what many fans considered a down-turn. This live video features the brilliant Sting we all know and love! Impeccable and unforgettable!

I received my copy in PAL format and it was unusable on my system. also just noticed that this had happened to several other buyers and no note had yet been made of this issue. Does anyone know of an NTSC version -- and, if so, is the audio issue also present in that format as well?

I was a little worried about the price and you usually get what you pay for but it is in very good condition and I am enjoying it immensely and great job for getting it to me early thankyou JM

Love Sting for many, many years. I try to buy as many DVD live in concerts of all my favorite artists.

My husband and I saw Sting on this Brand New Day Tour over 10 years ago, so I thought I'd buy this DVD for him for Christmas. We sat down and watched it about a week ago and while the concert itself is really good, the audio on the video goes in and out and the volume changes from time to time so that made it a bit frustrating. Just a little disappointed in the quality but I still love Sting and all the songs he did on the DVD so I'm glad I have it.

I was really looking forward to getting this DVD and it did not disappoint. A great concert by Sting!

If you are a Sting fan this is an amazing DVD the sound it great the musicians are amazing highly recommend it

Ich habe das Konzert auch live gesehen und da ist es schwer eine DVD fair zu beurteilen, aber sie in der Qualität sehr gut und auch die Atmosphäre des Konzertes kommt sehr gut rüber.

「All this time」はテロの後だったので機嫌が超悪くしかもShape of Heartはたったの2分強しか歌っていない。　そんなに機嫌が悪いのならキャンセルすべきだったのではないだろうか。それに比べてこのDVDは片面一層で画質は落ちるが「All this time」は小人数の前で歌っているがこのDVDは「民衆」の前で歌っていて評価できる。称号を手にしたのは分かるがインテリをひけらかさず素直な良いライブを期待する。まあ日本人としては宮崎のシーガイヤのCM降板に関する詳しいコメントを聞きたい。
