Effective For My Pup.
I don’t usually write reviews but for those who have skittish and anxious pups it was very helpful for me to read the reviews and choose this essential oil as a start. I have a 4-year-old, male shitzu/yorkie mix that has always been skittish. He gets very anxious and frantic with storms and fireworks mostly. Even before the storm and thunder starts to hit our area he gets frantic, panting excessively, whining uncontrollably, jumping up on the sofa to be consoled only to jump right back down and that’s when I know...once the thunder starts in our area he gets very diaphoretic and super flushed along with everything else I just mentioned multiplied by 10. This goes on throughout the WHOLE storm. I had to give him a small dose of Benadryl for the last storm bc he was soooo frantic. Vet recommend some OTC oral meds for anxiety, but I don’t like to resort to oral meds unless I’ve exhausted all other measures first, that’s just me, we’ve been dealing with these episodes for years and they were getting worse, so this last one I had to give him something. That made me search for other “natural” ointments and I came across this. (They also send you this nice little insert with several indications for use and recommended dosing for animal size.)I’ve already tried this oil twice with most recent thunderstorms and I will say I see a very dramatic difference. We are experiencing a thunderstorm now and as I heard the thunder he starting whining. I put some oil on the pads of his front paws and he seemed to calm after while. He's not panicking, nor panting, and no whining. Just wanted to share my experience, I feel this ointment made a big difference for my little guy. It was well worth the try.

Very calming for both elderly and younger dogs
I have used My Peaceful Paws for both of my dogs. My 15 1/2yo lab had arthritis and neuropathy, with the aches and anxiety that come along with that. When she would start panting heavily or we would need to have a car trip somewhere, I would spinkle a bit on her bed or bandana (I have guinea pigs that run around at times, so don't put any on the dogs' feet). It always helped her calm her breathing and go to sleep. I have tried various supplements for calming through the years, but nothing worked like this does. I wish I had it when my other lab was alive. I know it would have greatly decreased his anxiety attacks. My younger dog is very easy going and never needed it until recently. I'm not sure where the sudden fear of fireworks came from this New Year's Eve. Since then, I just go ahead and put a few drops on her bandana ahead of fireworks nights or severe storms. We haven't had any issues whatsoever. A tornado that was touching down a few miles away had ME in a panic, which needlessly upset her. A dash of My Peaceful Paws and we both ended up relaxing on her bed in the hallway, not being bothered at all by the winds and storms.

Didn't work for us
Easy to use and smells good, but didn't seem to have any calming effect on my little rescue dog with severe separation anxiety. Several people recommended this to me, and they thought it helped their pets. Your mileage may vary.

Its worth a try!!
Since i have tried everything on the market for my dog, i figured what do i have to lose!! So far it works the best of anything i have tried. Dont completely stop her anxiety, but at least it helps. The only complaint i had to the product is something that was said by others that purchased the product. You cant get the oil out of the bottle!!! I had to cut the tip off. I may try the spray next purchase.

Complete Waste of Money!!
This stuff does nothing for my dog. That's not why I gave it one star, though, because it may just be my dog. I gave this one star for two reasons. One, you can barely smell it at all. According to the instructions, a couple of drops in the diffuser with water is enough. I ended up putting at least a dozen drops in there and you can still barely smell it, and I was smelling right in the mist. Maybe that's intentional, but still. That brings me to the other reason. Getting this stuff out of the bottle is almost impossible!! You have to shake the crap out of it to get anything out and then you end up missing the target and wasting it, which really makes me mad because this is not cheap. This stuff needs to be in a bottle with a dropper and not a weird plug with a tiny hole to shake out a thick oil. Don't waste your money on this stuff.

Highly effective!
This product has been a lifesaver. Thunderstorms, fireworks, or even to rest up after an injury. I use about two drops from the dropper (that is incl) and rub between my hands and it heats up and releases a calming aroma. I rub my hands on my dogs chests and a final rub on the head. Those two drops cover both of my dogs, (85lb Shar-pei/Pit Bull and 45lb Beagle/Pit Bull). I use any residual on my hands and elbows, because I love the scent. I give them a bully stick right after so that they associate the scent with a reward. Within 30 min, they are mellow and half asleep. It really works every time. My dogs are super active and they are always into shenanigans in our yard and prone to injury as they leap first, suffer later + in my neck of the woods 4th of July is all of June and half of July + Michigan and thunderstorms are plenty, so I probably go through 3 bottles a year. I wish I had this with all of my dogs throughout my life. It helps so much!
