Gurman LA Antique Trunk Box Coffee Table, 40 by 18 by 18-Inch

I love this trunk but it came with one hinge that wasn't attached because the wood under where the hinge was attached was broken off. The screws to the hinge were not included. It looked as if the trunk was sent even though the hinge was not attached. It had been on back order for months. On top of that. the edge on the either end was kind of detached. I had to hammer it back on. I also had to glue part of the front edge back on with wood glue because it was broken. I kept it because I had no idea how to send it back. I had to have a carpenter come in and move the hinge over so that it could be attached to the top of the trunk.

As I wrote to Amazon, it was damaged upon delivery, both sides of the lid were broken into multiple pieces and one was lying in the box detached, the other held in place by one staple which detached upon being removed from the box. As it was supposed to be 'rustic', the simple fix, re-glue, fill and sand were sufficient to allow it to serve the purpose it was purchased for.Had it been fine furniture it would have been returned.
