Use a heat gun.
Well, I started off by intentionally not following the instructions to see how they would fare. I can normally shrink crimp-seal connectors with a torch, but it was tough to manage the heat on these and I burned the shrink before the solder melted. Then I tried a hairdryer and was able to shrink them, but still couldn’t melt the solder. Then I used a cheap heat gun from Harbor Freight. It normally sells for $11.99, but goes on sale/coupon for $8.99. It performed beautifully without complications.

Awesome kit for the money
This kit is super convenient! Working under the dash in a vehicle can be difficult soldering under the dash almost impossible! But these connecters make it super simple and no need to burn yourself with a soldering iron.

Nice set
This is a nice little set to keep in the tool box. I do alot of random projects between my cars and tinkering around in the shop and this seems to have something for most of my electrical needs. I like the solder heatshrink splices.

Good product.
Good product overall at a great price. I would however prefer not to get so many tiny diameter shrink tubing. There are a lot of tiny tiny ones in there I doubt I will ever use.

Don’t waste your money
The majority of the pieces are the heat shrink pieces. I was hoping for more solder connectors.

Very handy!
My fiance is a mechanic, and he's found these very useful. He did say it's a little hard holding both wires at the same time while heating them, but he said if you were working on a table or something this wouldn't be an issue. Overall, good purchase!
