These Maple Landmark name trains are beautiful and of high quality, especially the magnets that link each piece together. You do get the engine and caboose on top of the 9 letters of your choice. I received mine as I had specified and they picked out a great combination of colors, looks great! This will be a gift for my nephew for his 1st birthday. I first purchased a set for my toddler son last year and was so impressed with it that I decided each of my nephews will get a set. I recently purchased a set for another nephew (toddler) whom I will be visiting next month so it will be a treat for him. My toddler son recognizes the letters and tells everyone it's his name train. He is very crazy about trains so it was a perfect gift for him. I have instructed him not to play with it and leave it on his TidyBooks whiteboard, by the way 6 letters with the engine and caboose fits perfectly on the ledge of the TidyBooks whiteboard unit so that saved me from having to purchase the display mount (Maple Landmarks) to display the awesome train set. FYI, my little one couldn't resist playing with the set, running it on all his train tracks (wooden and plastic), it took several times of explaining how special it is and how he ought to take care of it by leaving it on display. Awesome train set!

This train is TINY and not of high quality. For the price I expected a hand crafted high quality train that my son could play with. The magnets are not very strong, the wheels do not roll very well as they are made out of cheap wood, and some of the letters are not easily made out. My sons name is Remington and I can not tell the difference between the I and the T. Also the color on the cars rubs off on my skin when we play with this train. So this was a very very expensive shelf decoration.
