Fun, charming, and more.
This series is really nice writing. It's charming, and also doesn't gloss over difficulty. Great for young adults, or younger, or .....older--I've enjoyed everything he's written, and I'm in my 60s.

A lovely finish to a great series!
4.5 starsLu and his family are THE CUTEST. So, this book opens with Lu finding out his mother is having a baby, and then becomes a great take about making mistakes and rising above terrible choices.Reynolds ties out his amazing series with a very honest tale with some tough life lessons built-in. Addiction is a big part of this story, and I think it’s an important and relatable topic for middle grade literature. Our kids today are seeing and experiencing addiction in staggering numbers and we need to discuss the consequences and impacts of this disease more openly. And what makes this book even better is we finally learn so much more about Coach. His childhood, his past, his philosophies, his family...A great ending, bittersweet, yet satisfying.

The whole track series is a study of what motivates kids
I loved the series. Of course Jason nailed the dialect of these kids, the patter and the flow of the dialogue. But he also nailed the characterization, the emotions and heart breaks of these team mates who were going through the highs and the lows of becoming a track family.

Hard to get into but still good
This was by far the hardest in the series for me to get into. It was a good wrap up to the series. But, as usual, it left me wanted more.

My thirteen year old brother LOVES this series. I'm glad to have found it because it's been quite a search to find a book that will hold his interest.

The end
I’m so glad that I read this series. The first two stories were good but man, that third lap he locked in and this fourth book he pushed with everything he had.

Glad it's over
I love Jason Reynolds, and I'm a huge fan, but I'm really glad this series is over. I've said this before, so I don't want to sound like a broken record, but I feel like the series just got more and more boring with each character. It felt like the writing got more childish with each book and the stories less interesting.Ghost was and still is my favorite character, and I wish the whole series was told from his perspective. I liked the little storyline with the coach and Lu's dad, although I felt it was resolved a little too easy.I also wish there was a book told from the coach's perspective.

The entire TRACK series is great for kids
My 9 year old hooked onto the Track Series when she was 8 and was gifted the 1st book. We preordered Lu the 4th and final book in the series. SHe loved the entire set and we have got couple of other kids aged 9 / 10 hooked on to the series.Very interesting books - esp if you want your child to realise there are kids from different kinds of families and with very different lives and dreams.
