I found it very stiff and more "twine" like in texture
The yarn looks exactly as pictured. Lovely color variation. Unlike the description that the yarn would be soft, I found it very stiff and more "twine" like in texture. I'm sure I'll find a use for it eventually, but currently cannot use it for the nicely draping shawl that I planned on. So if you are after nice color variations and stiffer yarn that will hold shape, this is great. But for a more drape like effect, this doesn't work.

A dream
This yarn might be a nightmare for some, and it's all true: it sheds, it breaks, it's uneven, etc. But for me this stuff is a dream. The beauty of the fiber has to be experienced to be appreciated, and it's not that hard to work with, although it is slow going. One must be careful when working with this yarn; as with any wild thing, it requires patience and a forethought. I made a bag to hold my knitting (see photo and a close-up of seed stitch and st st), and next I intend to make a jacket. As I knit, I bless the Nepalese women who spun it for me in their own homes, with their own hands, and I am deeply honored by their efforts. Put simply, I love the yarn. My order arrived very quickly in a 100% recyclable cardboard package with no plastic at all, which I appreciate. If you, too, are a wild thing, duly reverent and/or passionate about getting creative with your art, order some. You'll be glad you did. (Oh, and the price? Exceptional!)

NOT silk?
I hardly ever give bad reviews because I was taught the whole "if you can't say something nice..." lesson. But in this case, I think I need to let people know. I've knitted many times with recycled silk yarn and made some great scarfs and other garments but this is NOTHING like it and I truly believe this yarn is NOT silk. I feel mislead and more than a little disappointed. This is rough and stiff and tears your hands up. It seems more like plastic wire. But I've bought it so I'm making the best of it. It's so rough I think it would make good bath scrubbing mitts so that's the plan.Next time I'm trying "The Original" from another seller.

Absolutely beautiful yarn! I crochet
Absolutely beautiful yarn! I crochet, and I used an I/9 (5.50 mm) hook to create several 5-foot long mesh scarves. It took a little less than a ball of yarn to make one scarf. It is very difficult to work with and may break a few times. It's so fuzzy that you can't tell where the yarn broke after you tie it back together. It's definitely not the type of yarn for people who like even stitches and consistent gauge. It takes some effort to work, but it's well worth it!

It rocks!
Love it! Nothing ordinary here, this wonderful yarn lets your creative juices flow at high volume. If you aren't up for a challenge, forget about it; if you want unique and one only, this is where to start.
