Gimmie More Morris
Gerald Morris and his wonderful Squire's Tales series entered my life way back in fifth grade, when I needed a book for a book report. Since that day, Gerald Morris has been one of the most important people in my life...and I've never met him.The appeal of the Squire's Tales series is multifaceted. First, they are a knowledgeable retelling of the greatest Arthur legends, allowing children and teens enjoyable access to some of the most important characters and places in English literary history. Secondly, they have some of the best characterizations of any book I've read--written for children or not--who are at all times human, honest, and lovable despite (and often because of) their flaws. The greatest aspect of the series--and of this volume in particular--is, however, not the legend or the characters but Gerald Morris himself. The entire series feels like a great conversation as Morris talks with us about his practical, charitable philosophy of life based on an equal dose of pure Christianity and simple life experience. This philosophy comes out often in subtly humorous ways as the characters interact and solve their problems together. The Squire's Quest is my favorite volume in the series because it more than any other lets us see this philosophy in theory and in action as Morris's original protagonist, Terrence, returns to save King Arthur and his court yet again from the conspiracies of the evil enchantress Morgause.

I can't get enough of this series.
I cried when this series ended. It is a fast-paced, witty, intelligent, and fun new take on King Arthur and his round table, the knights, Merlin, and the enchanting world of faeries. Worth a read. Everyone in my family loves these books and recommends them as often as possible.

A Well Told Tale
This is a great addition to the series. GM shares the TRUTH with subtlety and grace. Thank You Sir Morris!

Great book not the greatest quality
Love this story. Ordered this book new but it was a used copy from a library. Had a black mark over the outside of the pages and the top and bottom of the binding wasn't the greatest.

Fun and different
This one was a big change of pace for series, but in a good way. It is also a great setup for the final book in the series as well.
