Nice for small dining area but difficult to thread wire
Nice size for a small dining area. Manufacturer could improve by 1) making ceiling cap cover larger, it barely covers the hole and is very difficult to center 2) making hole in ceiling hook larger, very difficult to thread wire through, had to use liquid soap 3) making ceiling hook narrower, difficult to guide wire around and have to spread chain link very wide to attach 4) providing a paper template or measurement to help space the lamp arms, it takes quite a bit of fiddling to get this right. Also, the lamp arms are all very slightly bent to one side - poor quality control, packaging, something.

This was well worth my time and effort
I needed a new cleanly designed chandelier to replace the old one above my dining room table, it's just how it looks on the image, IMHO, it's simple and elegant. The fixture was packed really well in its box. Of course you have to unfold all of the 5 arms before you hang it up but it's a trivial matter to do so, I just rotated the arms by eye until the spacing looked right, now here comes the anal part, measure the center to center distance of one arm to the next arm, do this for all 5 arms, write down your measurement and add them all up and divide by 5, now slowly make the arm spacing that measurement, get it to within an eighth of an inch and you're good to go.The electrical cable and the thin safety cable is quite long, it looks like you can double the length of the chain if you need to, I didn't so I just trimmed the excess length. The chain is also easy to deal with when installing the fixture, you don't want to spread the link apart, that will just cause you extra work and grief, I used 2 pairs of stout pliers and twisted the link open sideways just enough to accept the hang-point and using the 2 pliers, just twist the link closed, it's as easy as that.Your electrical junction box that will power this fixture may be different than mine, luckily my junction box had a long ground wire "pigtail" stuffed inside of it and it came in handy for properly grounding this fixture, do not skip this step it's about life safety. The only "fiddly" part was getting the proper length of threaded nipple to stick through the hole of the trim cover plate, but a few tries got it done.I used Philips LED Warm Glow 60 watt equivalent dimmable bulbs in this fixture.http://www.amazon.com/Philips-455931-Equivalent-Dimmable-Frustration/dp/B00TZ904Q2/ref=pd_sim_60_3?ie=UTF8&refRID=0A7ZTPXFAX3ZR0KQH4Y5I knew that five 60 watt equivalent LED bulbs will be extremely bright and I was right, this fixture gives off a lot of light using these bulbs. I control this chandelier with a Leviton 6674-P0B LED and CFL Incandescent Dimmer.http://www.amazon.com/Leviton-6674-P0W-SureSlide-Universal-Incandescent/dp/B0076HPM8A/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1434416342&sr=8-1&keywords=leviton+dimmerThe bulbs I used will dim down to a warm yellowish glow like an incandescent bulb will, so it's the best of both worlds, bright white light when you need it and the ability to dim them to a comfortable glow when you don't.I 100% recommend this light fixture, if you are not comfortable playing around with electricity or not knowledgeable about the importance of good electrical grounding for life safety, have a qualified Master Electrician install it, they'll have it done before you know it.

Review Progress Lighting P4441-20 Gather Collection
Easy to assemble the main body. The parts fit and went together very well.Getting the chain to length was the hardest part. This is one thick tough chain. I ended up using a combination of a bench mounted vise, slip-joint and vise-grip pliers to separate the links and remove the extra length and close the links back up. Also, you try to do this minimizing the damage to the chain links' finish or so it's in areas that will be less noticeable. There was a clearance problem (lamp cable wires) with the mechanical connection to the electrical box (threaded brass piped). I'll try to explain: There is a bracket that screws into the electrical box. There is a hole in the center this bracket and the threaded lamp brass pipe (the lamp wire/ cable feed though this pipe) slip into this bracket and a nut placed on top of bracket allows for adjustment. The top part of the pipe lined up clamp that held the electrical box in place and limited the space for the wires. I was able to extend the bracket from the electrical box and all was well.I using a 100 halogen bulb (suppose to take 72 watts @ 1490 lumens) in each location. I'm using a dimmer and it adjust from just each bulb barely on to full brightness which lights up the whole end of the room (~12' x 14'). You could use lower wattage bulbs. This is the only light I have in this area. Without the dimmer you could use fluorescent or LED bulbs in any wattage. I like the versatility.

LOOKS GREAT
Looks great but instructions are not clear (only pictures, no words). If someone had never done this before it would probably have taken them several hours. I've installed lighting before, and it took me an hour, with the help of my wife. Definitely a 2 person job! We bought this to replace a black wrought iron chandelier since we renovated the kitchen. The metal looks great with our stainless/white kitchen. Also provides lots of light for the large room that it's in (although that might be because of the light bulbs). Very pleased!

$100 item to hide away in the garage
Looks light duty (as having no gravitas - design fault, I think), flimsy as in no character, all bones and no flesh. For the near $100 amazon price, I am really disappointed with this fixture. Not many choice in a fixture that can support 5 bulbs and light up the living room, but I have no real excuse to return this and eat the return charge. This is one big mistake.

Beautiful, simple style
Beautiful, simple style, at a great value. This can bring a lot of light to a dark room, which is what we needed. We replaced a builder-grade gold 12 chandelier bulb light fixtures with this one and it was much brighter. The shades are just large enough to hide the spiral of a CFL bulb too, an added bonus. It's not as high-quality as some chandeliers are, but the price is right.

It looks really good replacing my old chandelier
It looks really good replacing my old chandelier. It was lighter than expected which is good because I installed it myself. You can adjust the position of each light but I'd rather have them in at a fixed even angle to preserve its balance from accidental impact.

This was exactly what we needed and it is perfect! It looks fabulous and we have it on ...
This is a more modern version of the lighting we had over our dining room table as we had re-done our kitchen and put in stainless appliances and high-end dark maple cabinets and black quartz counters and peninsula. We needed a light that would incorporate into the new design with the stainless and the new pendant lights over the peninsula as we have made our kitchen/dining room/living room open concept. This was exactly what we needed and it is perfect! It looks fabulous and we have it on a dimmer switch as was our previous chandelier-type light and this light fits into the new decor perfectly! We didn't want anything too ornate as it wouldn't be modern-looking. Also, we bought it at a great price!!! My husband installed it quickly and we've loved it ever since!
