The abstract and seemingly arbitrary nature of algebra disappears and the mathematical concepts become clear and understandable in no time when students use these tiles. This combination set allows students to build on their understandings from the simple unit and x tiles by adding X^2, y, and y^2. The binomial problems that are so hard to solve become both easy and fun when solved using Algebra Tiles.

I purchased several sets of these Algebra Tiles to use with my special education students during Distance Learning (COVID-19 online school!). I mailed a set to each student. As you can see in the above picture, I labeled one of each piece so that they would have a reference. I really like this set, because I have used Algebra Tiles for 15 years in my classroom, but this is the first set I've owned that also includes 'y' and 'xy' tiles. They are really nice quality and so much better than paper or 'virtual' versions for my students.

I purchased this set after I purchased the basic set. I needed a few more x^2 and x pieces than the basic set provided. The set is a great supplement to the basic set! Now I have lots of x^2 and x pieces. I like having the y pieces too, to introduce systems of equations. I'm not sure how much I will use the xy pieces, but they do complete the set. Very sturdy. Just the right size. I love these pieces for giving students a visual for what we are doing.

This is a wonderful concrete material. Some of my students greatly benefit from working with them.

I like the product itself. I expected it to have at least a How to Use sheet or booklet with it. It’s just the plastic pieces in a zip top bag.The useful examples on Amazon convinced me to buy them, but a few pointers for application would have been appreciated with the purchase. Even a list of the tutorials and demos to be found online would have helped.
