Looney Labs Pirate Fluxx

This game is so much fun and one of the better version. It goes quickly and has fun dynamics.

We LOVE this game. Like Fluxx games, each time you play is totally different. That keeps things fun. I've tried other versions and Pirates is definitely our favorite!

This game is a great addition to the FLUXX family. It's fast, it's easy, and it makes your friends put on bad pirate accents! If you are already familiar with previous Fluxx editions, this game makes the play a little faster, with the added abilities of plundering other people's keepers and creepers that move from player to player on every turn, adding a fun new dynamic to game play. It's especially fun to shuffle this together with other FLUXX games and still play seamlessly. For example, pair this with Zombie Fluxx and see how your friends handle talking like a pirate zombie!If you are not already familiar with Fluxx this is a great way to start. The rules are simple, and laid out in front of every player at all times. There is an element of bluff in this game, and it's best to try to load your hand in such a way to have multiple ways to win. This is an excellent party game, because people can jump in or leave at any time, without a break in the game play. And it is just FUN!

I can not stress enough how much we love this game. This was our first version of Fluxx, and although we have played (and own) several other Fluxx versions since then this one still remains everyone's absolute favorite. My mom is obsessed with it. My sister and I are obsessed with it. My nieces (even one who can't read yet) are obsessed with it (although the youngest one needs a lot of help obviously). It is one of 2 games that goes on every vacation with us. Some versions of Fluxx have odd cards/rules that take a while to get used to (like the way that the zombies are used and passed around in Zombie Fluxx) but this game is straightforward and fun. I also like that it is a quick game (we've had games as short as 2 minutes, but even our longest game was only about 15 minutes long.....although that being said we are addicted to it enough that we will play it would 2-3 hours straight).

First off, the basic Fluxx game mechanic is a 4-star game. It's fun, trivially easy to teach and not too frustrating for the players. But in its "beer and pretzel" silliness are mechanics that let it sometimes get bogged down or too weird.Pros:It's very easy to play, even for beginners--starting with a single "draw one, play one" rule.It's silly fun with half the cards changing the rules or the goals of play.It scales well from 2 to many playersIt is somewhat replayableNormal games are about 15 minutes.Cons:It's hard to use very much strategyIt's HIGHLY variable in length. One game can be a 3-card laydown win. Others are an hour or more.It's good for about 3-4 games before you're moving on to other things.The "Pirate Fluxx" deck is a stand-alone game which has the same basic pros and cons, while being marginally more fun than the basic game. It contains a full deck of cards specific to Pirates, and introduces new concepts along with the new theme. A few key cards of note:The Captain's Hat, adds bragging rights to the game and a few play variations.The "talk like a pirate" card is fun, though gets silly after a while.Two new creepers are interesting, easily gotten rid of, and add a bit of variation to playThe "Plunder" card introduces significant card swapping among players.If you've played Fluxx before, or want a safe first time purchase, it's worthwhile. It won't make the sole basis of a 4 hour game night, but is a good filler.Of the theme decks I've played so far (Original, Monty Python, Zombie, Pirates) Pirates is my favorite.

While I already have several Fluxx decks, adding Pirate Fluxx to the mix upped the fun in new and exciting ways! New Fluxx players will be instantly enticed with engaging cards like Talk Like A Pirate; Plunder! ; and Long Live the Captain! Seasoned players will be thrilled with the introduction of the Surprise card - adding a new wrinkle to familiar gameplay. All in all, young or old, experienced or not, you can't go wrong adding Pirate Fluxx into your game rotation!

Got this for our nephews (12 & 6) for Christmas. It was a lot of fun, and really easy to learn. They loved the "talk like a pirate" card, in particular ;) Only complaint is that the cards seem to be a little on the thin side, and they were all bent/warped when we received the box. A little counter-bending got them back in shape, but we were a little put off by that. Other than that, it's a great game and the kids loved it!

Arrr!Surprise Cards, Piraten Akzent Bonusregel und Plündern bis zum Skorbut - da schlägt jedes Freibeuter Herz höher! Sehr lustig und der absolute Knaller auf jedem Spieleabend wie ich finde. Sollte in keiner Spielekiste fehlen.

Originale. Il gioco è piratoso quanto basta. Le meccaniche si rifanno al capostipite Fluxx con ambientazione differente. Le partite possono durare dai 10 ai 30 minuti, dipende dalle carte che escono. La dipendenza dalla lingua è moderata, c'è molto testo da leggere su ogni carta ma il livello di difficoltà per la traduzione è basso, scolastico e intuitivo. Lo consiglio agli amanti dei giochi di carte che durano poco, con illustrazioni semplici ma simpatiche e regole in continuo mutamento, per garantire una buona rigiocabilità. Divertimento garantito.
