Simple but perfect .
i paid 6.18 (only for the midnight color?) and free shipping.... must have been a listing mistake...? i read the reviews and it looks like a crapshoot for item condition but, for 6 bucks i took a chance and mine was perfect with no issues. i used some liquid nails glue in addition to the wall anchors to beef it up a little bit more and worked really well.

Good product
Unlike some have posted, the finish was very smooth and clean. The product is sturdy and I like that the holes are larger than some other brackets I had considered. I rated only 4 stars, because there are only 2 mounting holes on each bracket - 1 on each end and they are along the bottom. These are installed at a rental unit, so I drilled additional 2 holes, along the top to secure them better. I also didn't care for the screws that were included, so I used dark colored cabinet screws instead.

Holds my stick well!!
Holds my stick very well. Not too firm, not too gentle. My stick slides easily into the upper hole and rests in the nice pocket in the bottom. It's very easy to get my stick in and out. Was easy to mount. I didn't follow the instructions, after all what man does.Mine was black, just the way I like it. No blemishes and has held up to the punishment of me AND my friends inserting and removing our sticks from all the holes. What more can I ask of my $18.

It's nice....
I think it looks nice, it is kind of brownish/red in color. Seems sturdy enough to do the job and looks good on the wall.

Simple and sleek but needs reinforcement
I liked this holder because it was simple and contemporary. It was easy to install, but it started separating from the wall when supporting 8 sticks. The bottom piece didn’t hold the weight well with only 2 screws on the underside. Adding another mounting hole at the top side of each piece did the trick (blue circle in picture). If mounting against drywall, use stronger anchors than what was provided.

Definitely has flaws, but ok for the price
So I too received one with wood finishing defects and looks used. I know a bit about wood work. The simple truth is that the hole saw core bit and the router bit were dull, and they did an imperfect cutting job. There are some shallow sprawled off chips around most of the cored holes, and the routed edges were rough at the wood knots (the hard spots). The reviews make sense, the ones made with new, sharp bits likely look great, the ones made after the bits got dull look like mine. I spent less than $30 on this, 99% of my friends will never look for or notice the flaws.

Functional but you get what you pay for
For the price, it works - just don't expect a gorgeous finish.Positives:Screw holes are 16" on center making it easy to installHolds cues and bridge wellNegatives:I agree with the other reviewer - the finish is awful. There are gouges, scrapes, and little marks on both pieces.Screws are included but are somewhat short. I used longer ones to ensure it was attached deeper into the studs.Overall, it's functional but you clearly get what you pay for.

Beware
Guess i should feel fortunate, finish was fine. Packagkng looked a 5 year old did it. No hardware for mounting. Dont know if it fell out of the poor packaging or wasnt included. Its a shame that you have to work hard for your money, then have to work hard to spend it.
