🔋 Power Down, Peace of Mind Up!
The Battery Cutoff Switch is an essential safety feature designed to prevent battery drain and deter theft for vehicles like cars, RVs, boats, racecars, and ATVs. With brass terminals capable of handling 500 Amps, this switch is easy to install and is a requirement in many racing organizations, ensuring both safety and performance.

Excellent, High Capacity, Resonably Priced, Battery Cutoff Switch!
This switch is an excellent addition to a recreational vehicle. Safety detectors and perhaps other devices, always pull a small amount of current from the battery as the RV sits in storage, which for some of us could be a considerable percentage of the time, not good for the battery and will eventually drain it, One solution is to remove the wires from one side of the battery when not in use. This can be quite inconvenient and perhaps hard on the wiring. This switch provides a good solution. It can handle any amount of current modern RVs pull. It is relatively easy to install. I mounted it in the lid of the battery box and installed it by breaking into the positive side of the battery. Either side will work but I prefer to break into the positive side of vehicles with negative ground. The wires that went to the positive battery post are installed to one side of the switch. A wire must be provided to connect from the other side of the switch to the positive battery post. This short wire may be purchased (auto parts dealer) or fabricated. It should be the same or larger gauge as the largest wire connected to the battery. (No instructions are included with the switch.)

Saving batteries w/cut out switch
This switch helps me save my batteries for when I need them, not my clock.Ever go to do something on your RV that's been sitting for a month or more and there's no electricity.Well put this in your battery main line. Shut it off when you don't need power. Turn it back on when your ready to start the refrigerator or put the slider out or anything related to your 12 volt needs.Works Great. Just what the mechanic ordered.Battery Cut-Off Switch - Removable Key - Ultimate Theft Deterent!

Sturdy. A little bigger than I thought it would be.
I haven't finished installing this yet, but I did all the prep and planning. It's for my ATV, which seems to drain the battery all the time (and it's not the winch). I sort of wish I'd looked for a smaller one, this one is sturdy, I like the lug sizes and the spare key they give you, but it's a bit of a challenge finding a good place to mount it where I don't have crazy long cable runs, or where my knee won't hit it. I don't want to mount it inside the battery compartment under the seat, because I want to be able to easily access it without taking the seat off. But that's not the fault of the switch, it seems very well made.I did finally find a spot near the front under the gas tank, and plan to install it this weekend. I guess one thing that would make it better is if it had some kind of waterproof enclosure for the back side where the connections are. Given my mounting location I plan to use liquid tape or silicone to cover the connections, which works but it's not the most elegant solution.BTW, I recommend you use this on the negative lead. If you go positive, the "input" lug on the switch will always be hot... more prone to corrosion and water problems, not mention shock or potential shorting out issues.

Failed after 2 months
I liked the switch. It was not too hard to install. After about 2 months it failed when we weren camping. If I didn't have a ciruit tester we would have had no ideA WHY WE had no battery power.NBow we have a useless switch.

Battery drain
2004 Silverado 2500 HD has a battery drain problem and rather than spend hundreds of dollars I chose this product to disconnect the battery from the system for long non use periods. The product is high quality and works like a charm.

Really Good Product
We bought this because the battery in our van kept draining since we don't use it much. Every time we go to start it up it won't start because the battery is dead. We installed this quite easily and disconnect the battery when we know we won't be using the van for awhile. Now the battery holds its charge and we have no issues. Really great and cheap solution.

too bulky for PWC, OK for other boats
For my PWC, there is simply nowhere to mount this bulky battery switch. I resorted to simply disconnecting the negative battery post instead of utilizing this item. The item, without the giant red key installed, occupies the volume of a baseball. ideally, you want to mount it to some sturdy part of the transom near the battery. In a PWC, however, space is limited. In order for me to use this, i'd have to do some risky drilling to properly mount the switch-- not worth the hassle.Waste of $15 for me, but outboard and I/O boat owners will have more space aboard their vessel to properly mount & use this thing, which will be very easy to enable. I have to assume the item aids in avoiding unnecessary battery drain during boat storage. The product does not come with any explicit directions as to its operation or installation. both should be pretty self-explanatory.
