Decent knife
All good. Slightly tricky to remove from packaging, but patience paid off. Seems sturdy enough for cutting vinyl tiles, which why I bought it. It replaces an old one, which has passed its useful service life. Nice yellow colour, too, so won't get lost in the toolbox.

Comfortable on the hand, lots of nice features, up to usual Stanley Standards!
I have owned a few Stanley, and other branded, knives such as this. Usually they become uncomfortable to use, a lack of rubber inserts on the grip, gunk can get into the mechanism or i just lose them. I picked this up based on the fact it is Stanley so a well recognised brand of some stature, its yellow so easy to pick out on the floor or a cluttered tool tray and it has some good reviews as well as added features.- The knife comes with a small cardboard insert attached, no excessive packaging. Its very comfortable to hold, the rubber inserts as mentioned really make a difference when using for a prolonged period of time or when using lots of pressure. The build quality feels nice and solid, the slides and click fasteners just work, a few months of use and they still simply just work with no fuss.- I like the balance of the knife, its fairly even and not overly top heavy as some of the others i have owned have been. The quick release mechanism does take a couple of click releases to get used to, it requires a little shift to one side once the blade is inserted to fully lock in place but its not problematic.- The additional blade holder is super useful, it just means you arent trapsing back to your tool box for replacements or worse still having to carry spare blades in your pockets or tool belt, which is just a recipe for hand and finger cuts.- I have had this for three months now and used in a variety of situations, both at work and at home. Carpets, underlay, plastics, cable, tape, whatever material i use it on it hasnt bent, broken or let me down. The blades stay firmly in place, the quick release works just fine and i dont have that aching hand syndrome some of the competition have in the past left me with when ive had to use for an hour or more. Its a really well thought out and robustly manufactured knife, im unsure how you could improve it so its Five Stars.

Comfy and solid but prone to blade holder issues
Like one of the other reviewers here I've had to bin this version of the Stanley knife. It never held the blade properly, frequently slipping out or else jamming half-in, half-out. The handle is nice and weighty and fits the hand well, and the spare blade holder is fine, but changing the blade was a nightmare. My last one (same type) was fine, so I think it may be due to a flaw in the metal retractable blade holder. Either way, it's fiddly and hazardous, and there's no way of fixing it even by taking the knife apart. A great shame.

Good but...
I bought this because I was doing some flooring work and couldn't find my original Stanley Knife. I decided on this one because of all the extra features and the reasonable price.Basically this knife has a few interesting features, the blade storage, the quick swap blade feature, and the rubber wipers.First of all the blade storage feature is nicely implemented, a pop-up storage box that stores 5 blades In a spring-loaded compartment, It makes it easy to load and retrieve blades. The rubber wipers are situated on either side of the blade and wipe the blade clean when you extend or retract it. This is to stop debris entering the handle. The quick blade change feature, this I found a little frustrating. It took more than a few attempts to get this to work properly as the button you have to press in is quite stiff. You have to do this as you feed the blade gently in through the front slit opening. It took me about six attempts before I got the knack of doing this properly.Oh and finally this knife also has a blade lock button switch which clamps the blade in place, for those times when you are putting a lot of force on the blade, so much so that it comes out of the knife. The lock feature is designed to stop that happening.I've only been using this briefly so far so good. It's quite comfortable to use with the rubber grips.

One of the better knives out their
This item came on time and was reasonably priced. However, there were no real instructions how to put a blade into it. So I resulted to good old Youtube and that did the trick.Despite lack of instructions, I'd still award this 5 stars
