The Charles Rennie Mackintosh Colouring Book (Birlinn Colouring Books)

Such a lovely book.
I am a new fan of Charles Rennie Mackintosh and the colors on the cover caught my eye. The book is a generous size - 10x10" and contains 48 pages. The images are on the front and back of each page and the page itself is very sturdy. One could use markers or watercolor without bleed through or ghosting to the other side. The artist has creatively rendered beautiful images in line drawing form of Macintosh's work. I am an artist myself and have used the book as inspiration for my own drawings. I am happy to have seen and purchased this book. I was distraught to have spilled a glass of water on my carpet and the book soaked the water up overnight. To my amazement the book is no worse for the water damage. That may reflect on the quality of the paper.

For Mackintosh fans
I bought the book hoping to get inspiration for my art, since I love Art Nouveau. It's a well made book with nice drawings. I

Very disappointing
If you're looking for his floral designs then don't buy this. Not many in it. If however you're into colouring buildings then this is the book for you.I wasn't expecting all the buildings, far too many of them and too few of the designs you usually associate with Rennie Mackintosh. So it's a very disappointing book. I should have known better to chance a book that didn't give the option 'to look inside'.I also don't like the feel of the paper, seems a bit grainy, so I don't think I will bother colouring it at all, might just give it to Oxfam.
