Proceed with caution.
This is an Boss HM2 clone. If you do not like the Boss HM2, you will not like this pedal. So this pedal does an accurate job of cloning the HM2.With everything dimed I could not make the feedback even manageable. It sounded really good when playing. If you stop for over a second I would either have to turn the pedal off or it was insanely loud feedback. Also note I tried all new cables too.I have an ISP decimator, I tried it in every conceivable position in the chain. Now the good. I put it right after my Aris Savage Drive and before my Tight Metal Pro. Gain set at zero and I adjust the volume to the appropriate level of chainsaw. It works very well in this fashion.I've seen demos where they had no problems with the feedback. So it could just be my pedal.I don't really care to return it because it works great the way I'm using it.Once again, unless you like early Death Metal tones. You will not like this pedal. It does not do rock, hard rock, punk rock or anything except 90s Swedish Death Metal or early Black Metal tones. It sounds great for some tremolo True Kvlt Black Metal. Also the way I have it set, when I turn off my Tight Metal Pro but leave everything else on, it has a really good slightly overdriven clean to it. Which is a welcome bonus.

It does one thing, but it does it well.
It's all in the name. Eyemaster does exactly what it implies. Beefy Wolverine Blues/Slaughter of the Soul tone, or put it in front of a driven amp (or any pedal that introduces soft clipping) and nail that Dismember sound. Does it do anything else? Not really.

A budget one trick pony for Swedish death metal.
The design of the enclosure, knobs, and switch are all solid. The sound is pretty “digital” is the best way I can describe it. It doesn’t seem to do well across unusual chords by itself but stacks with other pedals nicely for leads. It will chug. Also sounds gnarly with a bass guitar and a EQ pedal. Outside of metal I don’t see much use, but this is great for a budget Swedish death metal tone. I use mine frequently.

Sick pedal.
Pretty impressed with the tone, can be a bit overboard if it’s not what you’re looking for. From what I can tell it’s based off of Entombed’s Wolverine Blues based off the font and the opening track of the album being “Eyemaster.” My only complaint would be the feedback but it’s manageable.

Gothenburg tone on a budget
Great buy. I've owned a few HM2s in my life, and this nails the "trademark" sound. It's loud and nasty. Are there more expensive boutique HM2 clones with a myriad of EQ options? Sure. If you want some plug and play black/death metal tones, you can't go wrong. My only complaint is that switch feels cheap, and it doesn't "click" feels like a momentary switch you'd find on a line 6 board. Haven't had any issues since purcjasw

HM-2 Sound and more
I am very happy with the quality and sound from this pedal. It is an HM-2 clone and if you love that tone then you will love this pedal. There is not a lot of adjustment on the Gain but everyone max's these out almost all the time anyway. If you play around with it you will find that this thing does more than just "chainsaw" all the time.

Raw tone. I love it.
True black metal tones. It's fantastic.

Ya, It's Intense...
This pedal is pretty extreme. I'm using it with my bass (just for fun), and can get some really awesome black metal tones with it, especially when I have another distortion pedal paired with it at the same time. The gain knob really goes from intense to extreme. There's no neutral with this thing. If that's what you're looking for, then get it!

Quality at a very economical price for those who want to take the Left Hand Path
If you want that classic Swedish death metal buzzsaw guitar sound that Tomas Skogsberg produced at Sunlight Studios for bands like Entombed and Dismember then look no further. A boss HM2 pedal is the sort after item for achieving such classic sounds but this incredibly well built pedal from TC Electronics achieves exactly the same sonic range at a fraction of the price. Even my 15 watt Fender Blues Junior turns into a seething, snarling beast with this thing plugged into it! I’ve also used this pedal plugged into my favourite DAW through an audio interface and the sounds you can achieve are astounding! If you want a modern metal sound look elsewhere, if you’re after the classic old school Swedish death metal sound this is just the ticket. Highly recommended!

Chuggy Death Metal
Has one thing on its mind. Some decent chugs can be obtained. Can achieve what it should, swedish style death metal. I pushed it hard and loud. Sounds meaty with deep chuggy lows, moody mids and a nice mix of highs. All depends on your rig, too. Can get more control with a decent EQ on amp. I also used a Boss EQ pedal for more control. Really though, plug in, crank it up and just enjoy. Good price.

Excellent pedal for the money!
I bought this for £18 from Amazon warehouse and honestly - apart from a few finger smudges I couldn't tell anything else wrong with it. Came in its original box and with instructions so absolutely no complaints on it's "used" condition - far better than listed on Amazon warehouse IMO. As for the sound of the pedal, plenty of youtube videos showing what it can do and at this price close enough to the Boss HM-2 for me and my home playing.

It's a dimed HM-2
Not for me, right now. But it's a dimed HM-2 in a bulletproof box. I don't need it, but when I do, it'll be there.
