IXS Unisex Flow Evo+ Padded Knee Guard

Love Em
By far the best knee pad for light to medium riding. I still use my kyle straits on gnarlier days, but these bad boys are the perfect balance of protection and comfort for longer more mellow enduro/AM rides. Definitely my goto pads for the majority of rides. Fit is incredible, breathability was stellar, and I had no issues wearing these all day.

comfy kneepads for tree trunk legs
Reviewing size Large: I have calves that people have referred to as the works of Michelangelo. My tailor once asked me when I was getting trousers tapered if my 18" calves were swollen. So naturally, I was concerned if these kneepads would cut off precious blood supply to my calves in the pursuit of safety. I did have to wrestle the sleeves over my calves and initially the top sleeve felt as though it was choking my thighs. After some adjustments, they are definitely snug but not painful that I want to take them off. The padding cups the knee joint pretty well, and isn't stiff to allow for flexibility in pedaling. They do not feel heavy at all and don't shift around when walking.I have not worn these on the trails yet, but I have great confidence that they'll protect my knee from impacts and cuts.

GREAT PADS!
I was a bit hesitant at first, but I needed something to protect my knees after having small falls......I'm stubborn :) Anyway I rode with these and you really forget they are on after a bit of riding. SUPER breathable as advertised and stayed in the proper place after the ride when I checked :) Very happy with them. Was gonna get the POC VPDs but this one is DEF more breathable behind the knee and I needed that. rides well - meaning even during climbs i didn't need to move them down to my shins at all. They do run on the small side so get one size up. I thought I was a small and I have thinner legs after the knees and have a thigh radius on the smaller side. But IU sent back the Small and got a Medium. Perfect fit :)

Comfortable and Protective
First ride with these was on a double-black diamond trail with a 3.5mi uphill on a sunny 80+ degree day. Ideal testing grounds for their comfort.Result:These remained comfortable enough to wear almost the entire time (I did slide them down to my ankles for portion to try and dry out). I did not end up wrecking as expected, but I have confidence that had I, they would have provided plenty of protection.I wasn't initially willing to spend nearly $100 on knee pads, but a hospital bill would have been multiples of that. These gave me some additional confidence to ride some bigger features, too.

Great pads!
I'm a trail rider, meaning I'm pedaling UP to then go downhill. I'm also older than I once was so it was time to make sure and wear some protection! These pads are a great solution and are super comfortable for 2-3 hour rides, even in the SoCal heat. Up or down these things feel really good. I've crashed a couple times on them and they have definitely saved my knees. If you're looking for something that's good for all around riding, I think these are a solid choice.

Runs a little small
I bought a Large, which was too small. I am 5'8" and have medium calves and largish thighs, not especially muscular or fat, just in between. Returned and got an XL, and it is still slightly too small, but I'm keeping it anyway. It rubs ever so slightly on the top of my shin below the knee. It's non-articulating, the pad is all one piece. I guess I expected more of a sizing difference and adjustability to cover any sizing issues, but no. Construction is good, the pad thingy is good, seems like good lightweight knee protection. Make sure you look at the sizing charts and round up a little.

Comfy, breatheable and effective!
Having tried other pads in the past, many with hard shells, the flexible Xmatter knee caps in these were a revelation! I honestly pretty much forget I'm wearing them on all day rides, including climbs, and often even put them on before I leave the house at all just to save time at the trailhead. Only when temps pass the 80* F mark does heat retention become an issue, but seriously, what wouldn't?Protection for straight on hits works great, though I have shredded my shins once as these do not extend down as far as a full sleeve, but I knew that going in. I ride them on my trail bike and my BMX so they've met multiple different surfaces from gravel to hardpack to concrete with no visible signs of wear this whole season. The elastic and grippers are holding up well and placing the velcro below the knee, in my opinion, is genius.Sizing is true to the advice offered - I have 19" (48cm) thighs and the XL fits like a glove. Will definitely be buying other iXS gear based off my experience with these!

Great fit and ventilation
I got these pads about a week ago and have nothing but good things to say about them. My first ride with them was a short one, about 7 miles and they felt great! Good ventilation, comfy and didn’t move. The next ride was a good one, about 25 miles with a good amount of climbing and over 2k feet of descent and still nothing bad to say about them. I haven’t had a proper high speed topple while wearing them, but the pads feel like they will be up for the challenge. I am 5’9 and about 170 lbs and the mediums are perfect.

lightweight and more comfortable than expected
I measured according to the IXS sizing chart at bike dot ixs dot com. I measured about a 44 cm just above the knee and ordered a Large. These fit very snugly with no chance of them falling down, so if doing it again would order a XL. I thought they might cut my circulation off or chafe, but after a 3 hour, 20 mile xc ride they were hardly noticeable. Expectations are that the material will stretch a little over use. Perfectly satisfied so far with mine, and like the fact that the semi-rigid foam pads can be removed for sanitation. My advice is for anyone with similar boundary measurements to order the next larger size. If you are 1 or more cm larger than the size boundary then go the next size, and if you are above the max of the XL, then go with a different product as IXS doesn't appear to make an XXL.

Bought for ice skating 👌
After doing lots of research into kneepads for ice skating, I decided on these as my hockey pads don't quite fit under my trousers and aren't so practical for a bit of normal skating. These fit perfectly around the knee and offer plenty of protection for their size. They fit under my jeans and leave plenty of flexibility. They don't slide down while skating which is a positive but they do ride a little higher after a couple of hours if you have larger calves.I used the ixs size chart and I fit in the middle of medium and even at a touch over 5ft6 I ordered these and they do fit a little tight but nice and secure and the bottom strap does hold it in position well enough. The lower part of the pad does dig into the shin a little if you walk around with your legs straight but in biking and ice skating you rarely keep your legs straight so wasn't an issue. They seem very well made so I will be interested to see how well they hold up to a few hard sessions and knee drops.

Too small
Ordered a medium, it’s way to small/tight. Sending for a large.I’m 171cm tall and 75kg. I’m always medium in everything so a bit annoyed.
