Rolson 62852 2-in-1 Tradesman Knife

Bought this back in June 2023 but waited to review until it had been well used. I have used this for many odd jobs such as cutting baler twine, roofing felt, mower rope, sharpening pencils and even cleaning dirt from under my nails! It is handy having both types of blade available in one knife. The belt clip is a handy thing too but i have to admit I don't use it as the knife goes handily in the pocket. The 'Stanley' blades are easily changed over with the handy press button release and firmly clip in place. So far, after both light & heavy work, both blades still lock firmly and the screws and rivets are all still tightly in place. My only warning is that the knife arrives with the blades extremely sharp! I haven't had to sharpen the main blade yet either. would highly recommend this one.

This is an interesting tool. Not overly ergonomic or slick, what it is is a proper work piece. Sharp, very well finished and almost 'steam punk' in design, the swappable blade is easy to switch (and comes with a pack of replacements) and the main blade is easy to open. All tools lock and it has a good belt clip and a lanyard point. Excellent value. Good finish

Small and good for jobs

This knife is pretty amazing for the price, it's a great all rounder and made for a brilliant job in the furniture warehouse I was in, since I did a lot of inspection and showing customers products that needed unboxed having this clipped to my pocket made life easy, while the surprisingly sharp knife blade was useful in repairs.Now the styling is a bit racey, it's not a subtle knife, however the wood inserts on the handle were appreciated by the higher brow customers.It's been in my toolbag and on my belt out in the wilds while I work at a set of cottages, it's missing a screw by now but it's still functional, the blade dulled slowly and holds a good edge when sharpened again. The ergonomics are spot on as a box cutter, the knife was handy enough to get out up until the little knurled screw fell off.I doubt I'd blame the manufacturing of the knife for the missing bits, it has had a rough life including an extreme wine tasting one of my fancier customers invited me to. Without this and my Swiss army knife together I'd not have gotten out alive.The blade holder can be fiddly with actual Stanley blades, cheaper utility blades fit easily. The release and holder do work well, I imagine if I bother to look I'd find it encrusted with guff from work and that's why it can be a bit fiddly.Overall it's a knife for all occasions it goes especially well at dinner parties and barbecues.

Good strong knife.

this tool i well made and practical, it is possible to open and close the utility knife with one hand but the knife blade needs two hands to open.overall the knife is well made and sturdy, although i searched the packaging to find the country of origin, i wondered if they are made in china or india, as the finish is not perfect and one of the rosewood inserts has been damaged at the factory.i suspect that these knives are seconds ? but the price makes up for these small imperfections.i use this knife everyday at work, cutting plasterboard etc...definitely worth the money.

Carving wood for camp gadgets

I bought this primarily for use in the garden and am pleased with it but would have liked that the blades could be closed more easily.Unless I’m doing something wrong, I have to remove my gloves to use my fingers to open up the slot to let the blades return to the closed position. But the blades are sharp and the knife has been well used and stood up to some tough work.

Muy buena calidad, pero muy aparatoso y pesado. Muy consistente y efectivo, aunque con un sistema de cierre complicadillo, como para unas prisas, y se puede abrir involuntariamente.

Vraiment satisfait de cet outil malgré les appréciations un peu négatives que je lui donne. Je l'utilise avec une lame croche pour couper des cuirs épais et elle est bien maintenue.Les plus : l'ouverture des lames se fait d'une main et la fermeture nécessite les deux mains. Très beau look, massif, il est stable en main de par sa forme et son poids. Il est aussi très maniable. La lame est très affutée et de bonne facture.Les moins : j'ai viré le clip dont je n'ai pas l'utilité et qui fait une sur-épaisseur inconfortable dans la main, d'autant qu'il a des arêtes trop vives. Le même défaut d'arêtes trop vives est présent à l'extrémité de la poignée et je redoute une ampoule lors de long travail de coupe, j'envisage de ce fait d'arrondir et polir les angles de cette partie. Le changement de lame de cutter se fait par trois petites vis, ce n'est pas très rapide, mais je la réaffûte sans démontage et ne la change que lorsqu'elle casse à force d'affûtage.

Buon prodotto spedito nei tempi previsti, non ho ben capito cosa si intendesse per "scatola di esposizione" visto che è arrivato nella sua semplice confezione in plastica da aprire e buttare.Mi sembra ottima la costruzione specie rispetto al prezzo e il peso adeguato se si deve imprimere forza per tagliare con la lama da cutter.Se si allenta si regola con facilità grazie alle esagonali. La presenza di 2 tipi di lame richiudibili e parallele lo rendono un cutter inusuale e consigliato specie per la fattura ma la lama da taglierino quando chiusa non entra completamente nel manico, non è certo un problema di sicurezza perché la lama vera e propria non resta fuori ma solo un fatto estetico.
