Great stain protection but slightly smelly incorrectly misapplied
Made my pine table very stain resistant but it also made it smell a bit like stale chip fat from the 80's. Spilled red wine just beaded on it which was far better protection than some of the waxing products I've tried. To get rid of the smell (still present a couple of months later) I cleaned the surface with white spirit and buffed it with my car detailing polisher with a wool pad to remove as much as possible from the surface. Time will tell if it's still stain resistant, but it no longer smells and water does still bead on it.I suspect the smell was because of mis-application. I believe I left it a little too long before wiping off the excess (couple of hrs rather than 30 mins) and I didn't wipe off the additional excess that came back to the surface often enough in the following few days.
