Brave Sophia: A Children's Book About Bravery And Courage

This children’s story is simple, enjoyable, and shares one of life’s truths in a way that young and old can understand and put into practice. The illustrations match the words perfectly. It is a picture book that can be read to a child, or read by a child, the older they become. Sophia discovers that being brave isn't complicated, or something she "has" to do, but something she can "choose" to be.

I thought this was a terrific book for young children about overcoming fears. Sophia was scared about giving him oral presentation in class and she thought that becoming a butterfly would take all her troubles away. She comes to find out that being a butterfly isn't all that it's cracked up to be. She is able to find the bravery inside of her with the help of some friends. In the end she is able to realize that she can be courageous and give her oral presentation.

I read this story from a friend that owned the book. Then I purchased two copies. It is a first-rate story that the young people really enjoyed. I was pleased that the girl character found her own courage. We need more books like this with girls that are strong. The book arrived on time.

I purchased and read this book to my granddaughters ages6, 7 and 10. The story line held their interest and the pictures captivated them. It inspired a discussion about fear vs. bravery. It is a great book, well written and illustrated. I recommend it for children of all ages.

I loved reading this to me grandkids. I think the story was beautifully written and illustrated and reminds us all of the importance of believing in ourselves and being brave.
