Marchioro Clipper Ithaka Pet Carrier

The Marchioro's Clipper Ithaka series have proven time and time again for me, as I have previously owned the Ithaka 3, 4, and 5, with the Ithaka 7 being the newest addition. Specifically, the Ithaka crate not only feels sturdy, but can withstand bored young puppies going through their teething phase, airplane luggage check-ins, and multiple generations of puppies. Moreover, this series is really easy to disassemble and reassemble because of the side clamps and the two anchoring picks at the front - just be careful not to lose the two anchoring picks as they are necessary for holding the door in place.The reason I did not rate the Ithaka 7 with four stars is because of one minor flaw that could just be the random one I received or a flaw of the whole 7 series: the door cannot be switched to open from the left because the door runs into the lip of the crate; unfortunately, due to my specific crate flaw or the whole series design, one cannot even force it to close shut. Otherwise, the Ithaka 7 is a great crate.

Two of the clasp that holds the top and bottom together were defective. Two parts were missing. Did return the item and requested a refund rather than a replacement. Quality control may be lacking and I didn't want to take the chance of receiving another defective carrier.

It's a beautiful crate and more spacious than the standard flight carrier. My dog had much less resistance going into it. Unfortunately, Cathay Pacific rejected it for the clamps (they require bolts and nuts fastener). But Amazon took it back without a fuss despite being way past the return period.

Right size, but came with a massive crack in it. I need this kennel though, so I glued it together so I can use it. After putting it together found out I was also missing one of the 2 front clips.

I love these crates they are well built great for easy clean up and the manufacturer has an excellent warranty

Overall good product. The locking mechanism doesn't lign up straight so it does take some effort to secure it. The product was easy to assemble fortunately as no instructions came with. Meets my needs.

Great product

It is a nice looking crate. It is sturdy for an average pet. It did not hold up to my golden doodle that has seperation anxiety. A large piece cracked off the front and gate bent after a couple weeks. Amazon was great with the return. I purchased a Ruff Tough crate instead.
