Italian Without Words

A fun book!
This book will bring you laughs! While my 90-something Nonna was visiting us, we brought out this book and my husband read it out load to her. She loved it! We all got such a kick out of her reacting to the phrases and gestures! A great memory, for sure.❤️

Great service, again!
I received the book promptly. I gave the book to a granddaughter as a gift since she is taking a sign language course this summer and I thought it would be amusing. She liked the book. I had an earlier version but very similar. Another good job by Amazon.

not "italian", just silly
i'm not sure why i'm the first to comment that this book is 80% universal body language (demonstrated by colorful italian characters)/20% actual italian body language/hand gestures. if you want to laugh at 'translations' of a man holding his stomach and grimacing ("italian" for "i ate like a pig!"), or holding his nose ("italian" for "you stink!") then buy this book. if you don't know what a woman rolling her eyes with a dreamy expression means (in "italian" --"he's a hunk") or how to say "don't touch me" in "italian" (point your ever-handy wooden spoon at someone and flare your eyes), then get this book. the few actual italian hand gestures are ok but there aren't many.

Cute little book
This book was fun to show my family on our trip. Made my grandma laugh and make up her own signals. Wish it would have had a little more, but got use out of it nonetheless.

I bought this book many years ago and somewhere along the way it got lost. I recently purchased a new one. I've used it in my Happiness in the Workplace series I teach as part of the Communication cohort! It's hilarious, so true and very informative. We don't just speak with words :)

I Recommend This Book With a Smile!!!
A great fun book about Italian hand gestures explained in English and Italian... If you aren't Italian enjoy this book and you too will be like two Italians "talking" to each other from opposite sides of a busy city street, really. This book really does explain hand gesturing such as we Italians use. I recommend this book with a smile!!! ~~Gian John Turturici Banchero

Cheap and cheerful! Great value for the "Guido/Gino-phile" in your life.
I bought the original version of this book from "The It Store" something like 20 years ago. This one's pictures are a bit less intense than the original's. For the price, it's value can't be beat and this makes an awesome stocking stuffer. One thing however that's bugged me since reading it in the original: "Non vali una Una lira!" (found under "insults") is translated as "You're not worth spit." It should be "You're not worth a cent" as it took "una mille lire" (a thousand lire) to make the Italian equivalent of "a buck" before the advent of the Euro.

Fantastic
Really funny - great for Italian learners. Used it in my Italian class. Also found it really useful at work, nobody knows your swearing!
