This is a very solid piece of equipment -- nothing cheap about it, except the price. I have not used other brands but have no reason to think that this is any lower quality than the other similar products on Amazon. I've been catching chain pickerel lately, so needed something that keeps my fingers out of a mouth full of little pointy teeth and also my hands off the slimy body. This works great and gets the fish off the hook and back into the water quickly.

Excellent product, seem durable. Worked fine on 5lb bass. I'd say 10lb would be my limit but in freshwater creeks and lakes that's fine with me. Only used em couple times. Will update if needed.Satisfied customer

The metal fish jaw grip works well, as advertised. Small unit will expand around 7/8inch max, and only 1/2inch depth fully open, so make sure fish are not long jaw or just use with smaller fish. Can't use this to hold a fish to weigh it as the wrist strap is flimsy band used for free ID badge holders or toys. Don't pull on it with more than 5 lbs or strap pulls out of handle. Light duty strap.
