Crab Attractant, 4-Ounce

Caught crab so don’t know if it really works. Can’t hurt!

I'm crabbing off the docks in Oregon. So I'm in a friendly competition with many other crabbers. Most of us talk with each other and see what sort of results other people are getting. This is an anise based scent. For the crabbing I'm doing I haven't seen any advantage to this scent. The anise scent is so strong and long lasting that if there is a benefit to this scent it would also affect many of the other people crabbing in the same area. It spreads everywhere.

Works as intended.

I have 3 crab traps in Hong Kong that I regularly check. I put the smell jelly on one trap and it gave me a crab on the first day. The other two traps had some small fish. Want to try it out on some fishing lines! Great product overall.

It smells. The smell lingers. I don't know if crabs like it because I lost my crab pot. Maybe crabs liked it so much they took my pot. All I know is the smell stuck with me all day and I had no crabs.

Been crabbing in Puget Sound for 50 years. This is bye far the best attractant for Dungeness I have used. Pots always full with it.

I smeared this on some cotton batting and put in trap with chicken and it worked exceptionally well.

First off to be fair, this was a reasonably priced item that comes with an applicator stick. Very hard to tell if it made a big difference with the blue crabs. Where this product lost me, was with the clean-up. If you use this, make sure you have gloves on or your hands will be smelly for long after you are done crabbing for the day. The same goes for the clean-up of the equipment. As recommended, I smeared this on the traps and lines too in addition to the bait and that just made the end of day clean-up all the more tedious.
